What you’ll be doing...

Help us optimize Verizon purchases for seven hundred and fifty million dollarsof thirdParty Switched Access by joining Carrier Management as the leader of the Voice Vendor & Cost Management Team. The group is responsible for managing Domestic thirdParty Voice Vendors and purchase decisions while optimizing the cost, reliability and vendor performance for our voice traffic. Your team of seven will; promote IP and TDM peering arrangements, program manage Feature Group D disconnect activities, while also supporting various fiduciary and regulatory obligations. These tasks require a detailed understanding of TDM switched access optimization, multiple CDR formats, FCC/PUC tariffs, and voice specific telecom industry data. The role carries a 2019 Telco Savings target of Eight and and half million dollars, to be retired via analysis of TDM circuits for disconnect initiatives and thirdparty vendor traffic termination agreements.

Daily tasks include:

  • Providing support and direction for full time employee and contractor analysts focused on year over year Telco Savings, key cost metrics and associated analytics.
  • Driving TDM voice cost reduction initiatives, supporting Network Engineering in the FGD Disconnect and Tandem rehoming of Direct End Office Trunking
  • Managing our relationship and performance of Verizon’s various thirdParty Voice Vendors, including the negotiation of Peering Agreements for both IP and TDM traffic.
  • Developing and maintaining business case planning models to support negotiations, and analytical tools for monitoring, forecasting, and supporting voice initiatives.
  • Detecting and then addressing new and ongoing usage arbitrage schemes via traffic and call detail record analytics
  • Providing regulatory advocacy support related to inter-carrier voice compensation issues

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree, in Finance, Accounting, or Engineering, or in the alternative ten or more years of equivalent work experience.

  • Six or more years of relevant work experience in the Telecom industry, with a preference for Access Cost Management

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree

  • Outstanding analytic and SQL programing skills

  • Advanced Excel and MSAccess skills

  • Financial acumen to represent Verizon in front of key internal and external customers

  • Previous experience with Verizon Business in an invoice validation, cost management, or commercial agreement negotiations role

  • Knowledge of 3rd Party Telco Vendor billing with detailed knowledge of CABS and SECABS billing formats for Voice Traffic

  • Experience with call detail record formats for SS7, IXCDR, JCDR, EMI & AMA

  • Knowledge of and experience working with Verizon Network Systems & Applications including VERIFY, eASR, 4WM, CAMEO, DWCDR and JARS
