What you’ll be doing...

As a seasoned accountant in the Tax department, your analytical skills will be put to use to ensure complete and accurate accruals and reporting of indirect tax liability accounts such as sales tax, gross receipts tax, FAS 5 reserves, and regulatory-type tax. Your main focus will be to:

  • Perform monthly account reconciliations.
  • Perform monthly/quarterly change in reserve reporting for management and independent auditors.
  • Ensure that expenses are accurately reflected in the appropriate accounts through detailed monthly analysis and alignment with expected results.
  • Manage and adhere to all SOX controls.
  • Forecast projected liabilities and ensure tax accounts have the appropriate balances.
  • Work closely with Tax Compliance groups to prepare annual budgets and resolve account reconciliation issues as they arise.
  • Work closely with internal and independent auditors.
  • Identify/formulate improvements to methodologies in use in the account reconciliation and other accounting processes, including the use of robotics.
  • Handle special projects.
  • Perform monthly journal entries.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Six or more years of accounting experience.

Even better if you have:

  • CPA or MS in Accounting or Taxation.
  • Knowledge of telecommunications tax compliance.
  • High degree of work-product accuracy.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills, including presenting results to management.
  • Ability to work independently as well as excel in a team environment.
  • Ability to prioritize deliverables and meet tight deadlines during the month-end accounting closing process.
  • Ability to be highly motivated, self-starter with strong PC skills and a proficiency in data manipulation involving the use of pivot tables.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Proficiency in Smart View.
  • Knowledge of Zero-Based budgeting.
  • Prior experience of SAP and PeopleSoft financial systems, and Blackline; a Sarbanes-Oxley account reconciliation tool.
  • Working knowledge of artificial intelligence (“BOTS”) technical skills.
