What you’ll be doing...

This is a lead data analyst position in the Revenue Assurance team, tasked with identifying, researching, and solving complex business problems and data anomalies through innovative, in-depth data modeling and analysis. The Consultant is also expected to be working as a liaison between various B2C, IT, Marketing, Accounting, and Network teams in support of their data analytical needs. This position is responsible for designing, owning, implementing and articulating opportunities to apply data analysis and modeling techniques to ensure accurate billing and customer experience.

  • Responsible to extract customer and billing datasets across the organization to support business and finance initiatives.
  • Study and mine data sets in partnership with cross functional B2C, IT, Marketing and Finance teams to derive actionable insights and help drive change.
  • Provide in-depth analytical insights by developing or analyzing data models, assess the impacts, and partner with cross functional teams to safeguard Bill To Cash organizational objectives.
  • Support Device Testing team and 5G deployment strategies by studying 5G data sets to provide data centric insights to safeguard customer experience and revenue interests.
  • Deep dive and research issues related to Customer and Organizational impacts, perform root cause analysis, assess risk, and work across the teams to mitigate negative impacts to customers and/or organizational goals.
  • Interface and lead efforts to drive synergies across teams by engaging and partnering on strategic initiatives.
  • Data analysis duties involve turning large volumes of datasets available across the enterprise into actionable insight for the business by:
    • Collecting the best data that is relevant for the decision from multiple large volume data repositories.
    • Reviewing and understanding data in context of business and study operational impacts on organizational objectives.
    • Analyzing the data, creating data visualizations, and study visualizations to answer the business question.
    • Communicating results in an audience appropriate manner using applicable metrics, visuals, actionable insights, recommendations and decisions.
  • Create framework, using data inferences and automation, to develop reproducible data driven recommendations optimizing stated business objectives.
  • Assist in the creation and continued support of internal analytics databases to ensure actionable outcomes for analysis and reporting.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in conducting research or analyses and managed projects for multiple stakeholders.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Math, Physics, Computer Science, or Engineering.
  • Master’s degree in a quantitative discipline. Ideally, an MBA.
  • SQL, SQL Editor for Oracle, and Microsoft Excel experience.
  • Knowledge with data visualization software. Ideally, COGNOS or Tableau.
  • Experience with Verizon system like ACSS, POS systems, and knowledge of EDW.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with ability to clearly outline and communicate anomalies, potential impacts, and champion issue resolution.
  • Experience with data driven decision making.
  • Working in the Telecommunications, Consumer/Retail space within the Financial Services, Technology or other related mass market industries.
  • Four or more years of writing advanced SQL, PL/SQL packages, functions and procedures and tuning database/query performance using Teradata or Oracle RDBMS.
  • Pig, Hive, Python, R and similar skills.
  • Knowledge with Natural Language Processing, Time Series, Regression and Path analysis.
  • High level of curiosity and investigative mind-set with attention to detail.
  • Ability towards data mining and data analysis.
  • Ability to be proficient at querying and managing large datasets.
