FP&A Transformation Team

Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon, calls for improving our ability to deliver exceptional value to our customers. Being a part of the FP&A Transformation team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. As a member of the FP&A Transformation team, you must use forward-thinking, out of the box ideas and innovation to ensure successful collaboration and transformation of Verizon Finance processes. This role will help to organize, create, communicate, and facilitate activities that allow the company to deliver on its Planning & Forecasting transformation goals while guiding the strategic direction across Verizon. Explore the breadth of opportunities that come with aligning your expertise with the future of superior networks, systems, analytics and video, to improve the way people live work and play.

Project management is the art of making things happen. You will interact with Finance personnel across all lines of business on a regular basis. The successful candidate will also forge relationships with members of our Human Resources teams, Information Technology, Marketing, Operations and Real Estate.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop approaches and solutions required to implement Finance process transformation and improvements.
  • Participate in multiple process development or improvement discussions to help in defining best practices for modeling key drivers of business performance identifying and exploiting process opportunities, including process analysis, with considerations for the functional and logical system design and implementation.
  • Understand the requirements and priorities around planning and forecasting deliverables for Finance Transformation.
  • Create documentation of the processes and collaborate with corresponding Transformation teams to ensure coordinated strategy and implementation.
  • Analyze, organize and manage high volumes of data, including financials and metrics, and be knowledgeable of the key business drivers.
  • Maintain accurate status for all owned projects in progress, own creation and delivery to clients on or by agreed upon frequency.
  • You will assist with high visibility strategic projects.
  • You will help forge cross-functional partnerships to get the work done.
  • You will create detailed project plans and communicate business updates.
  • You will identify global resource requirements and pull in the right people.
  • You will assist in the development, review, and help continuously improve processes.
  • You will monitor project progress, anticipate and reducing risk.
  • You will gain buy-in from stakeholders and those that will implement changes.
  • You will help implement organizational and process improvements.
  • Research and analysis related to ad-hoc requests.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Knowledge of financial planning (e.g. forecasting, budgeting, business planning).
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or related field.
  • Good communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
  • Knowledge in the usage of Hyperion Planning, Tableau, Qlik, SQL, and/or similar tools.
  • Ability to be independent with a strong initiative while consistently collaborating and contributing to the team.
  • Good analytical skills – ability to review financial results and provide meaningful analysis.
  • Project management skills in managing competing priorities.
  • Willingness to travel.
