What you’ll be doing...

You will seek to build deep, consultative technical relationships with your customers, effectively becoming a trusted adviser. A Solutions Architect (SA) is ideally positioned to understand the customer's objectives and match these to Verizon solutions in order to satisfy business and technical requirements.

  • Be an integral part of a team to identify and qualify business opportunities and develop the strategy to resolve technical matters.
  • Recommend integration strategies, enterprise architectures, platforms and application infrastructure required to successfully implement a complete solution using best practices.
  • Own the technical relationship with our customers, including managing product and solution briefings, proof-of-concept work, and the coordination of additional technical resources.
  • Work directly with customers to create solutions and use cases that leverage our product integrations that generate business value.
  • Articulate the Verizon Business vision on technologies and solutions towards the client, positioning Verizon Business as a thought leader on key technological developments.
  • Lead prioritization of customer solutions/technical requirements and champion resolution of solution/product gaps internally (also towards Product Groups).
  • Develop individual skill set and expand product knowledge to maximize value and to deliver quality services to our clients, including attaining designated certification requirements and attending product-specific training, reviewing technical literature, and obtaining hands-on experience.
  • Working with and understanding State, Local & Education (SLED) Procurement Processes and Contracts.
  • Travel to client sites, conferences, and other related events as necessary.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the tech industry with experience in pre-sales, customer-facing consulting or other relevant experience.
  • Experience architecting and developing software or infrastructure for scalable, distributed systems.
  • Experience architecting and developing LAN/WAN or infrastructure and network solutions for enterprise customers.
  • Experience with networking concepts including: software defined networking, routing, VPNs, load balancers, and firewalls.
  • Industry knowledge and experience in two or more of the following areas:
    • Software Defined Networking (SDN)
    • IT infrastructure and systems security
    • Cloud or network systems management
    • Business continuity
  • Willingness to travel
  • Valid driver's license

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in engineering or computer science.
  • Experience in and understanding of data and information security - especially as it relates to issues within businesses.
  • Ability to quickly learn, understand, and work with new emerging technologies, methodologies and solutions in the cloud/IT technology space.
  • Security, architecture, and industry certifications.
  • Hands on experience implementing or designing two or more of the following:
    • Data and IP Services Managed Operations.
    • Security Services.
    • Call Center Technologies.
    • IT Applications Management.
  • State, Local & Education (SLED) Government experience.
