What you’ll be doing...

The Engagement Executive is responsible for the overall flawless delivery of major enterprise portfolios/programs in support of a strategic client’s single or multiple service agreements. The incumbent will oversee multiple program and/or Engagement managers in the delivery of services. For the purpose of this position description, Program is defined as a highly complex major project or combination of projects, typically involving delivery of contracted services that are multi-state and frequently global in nature and span organizational boundaries, involve external vendors and multiple business areas, and can have a significant legal and/or financial impact to Verizon Enterprise Solutions and Professional Services business. Strategic management requires deciding where best to focus the organization’s finite resources in order to meet strategic objectives, considering the business as a portfolio of activities and making tradeoffs across the portfolio.

The incumbent will work closely with Executives and Engagement Managers as well as Associate Directors, Sr. Managers and peer PMO managers to ensure the delivery of Services as documented in SOWs and/or other service delivery contractual agreements.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Execution/delivery of each program within her/his sphere of responsibility, and ensures all Verizon, VES and PS practices and policies are followed, or modified if appropriate.
  • Collaborating with stakeholders to define business/functional requirements and identify/resolve gaps.
  • Planning, governance and oversight of the successful delivery of the portfolio/program’s output/product.
  • Relationship-building at the client’s CxO level, as well as executive-level circles within Verizon’s and the customer’s organization.
  • Providing high level portfolio and program communication from a central venue.
  • Ensuring prompt problem and escalation resolution.

Additional responsibilities to include:

  • Ensures team performs communication in the form of formal briefings, project update meetings, and written, electronic, and graphic reports are effectively carried out.
  • Oversees the development and maintenance of detailed project schedules, action item registers, and major
  • Milestone timelines for all assigned projects.
  • Ensures Project Workbooks are created and maintained for each program and contract
  • Oversees and facilitates as applicable, sometimes leading project meetings.
  • Aids project managers in the consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Conducts post-deployment reviews and provide feedback to business owners, product owners, and other stakeholders as part of best practices formulation.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Tenor more years of project management.
  • Ten or more years of experience in change management or process improvement.
  • Sevenor more years of experience in a consulting services organization.
  • Experience managing and setting expectations, managing escalations and negotiating resolution.
  • Certification(s): Project Management Professional (PMP).

Even better if you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree orhigher with a STEM focus (Science, Tech, Eng, or Math).
  • Or eight yearsof military service within comms specialty.
  • Or tenyears of experience within network engineering and other data com fields.
  • Certification(s): Information Technology Infrastructure Library (ITIL) and or Certified Scrum Master (CSM).
  • Able to perform exceptional work with minimal guidance and direct with a high level of quality.
  • Willingness to travel domestically and internationally.
  • Experience working in consultative positions.
  • Ability to manage and lead consulting engagements independently.
  • Desire for continued technical growth.
  • Mentor other more junior consultants on various PMP best practices.
  • Ability to interact with business leaders of all levels.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects at one time.
  • Advanced skills in financial management and budgeting.
  • Strong presentation, verbal and written skills Working knowledge of Professional Services delivery methodology and the quality triggers that influence client satisfaction.
