What you’ll be doing...

The Director of Field Marketing, Global Enterprise, will be part of the Verizon Business Group (VBG) marketing team, supporting the development of segment-tailored value propositions, personas, and field/customer marketing for our wireless and wireline business (B2B) portfolios. The director will be responsible for guiding a team that provides direct customer and sales marketing support, including being the day-to-day lead for all segment marketing activation planning and execution tactics and serving as ‘face of marketing’ and primary contact for the global enterprise sales leadership team. This role will collaborate with the cross-functional Marketing organization to establish campaign targeting, segmentation strategy, innovative marketing solutions, marketing communication, media tactics, effective go-to-market (GTM) communications, and ad hoc marketing support. Key to this role is the ability to gain a deep understanding of segment opportunity to aid in the creation of segment marketing strategy to target key personas and customer profiles within the segment; the ability to lead the development of thought leadership and educational content to drive prospect engagement; the ability to coordinate with other marketing teams to develop integrated demand programs; and, the ability to ensure that sales leaders and teams have segment understanding and segment specific content to achieve pipeline, sales, and revenue goals.

The Director of Field Marketing, Global Enterprise, will be a leader who is highly motivated, experienced, and strategic, with hands-on experience that blends both commercial and operational marketing expertise. This individual should be analytically-driven, digitally-oriented, and can partner with segment business owners. He or she will directly oversee team members and team leaders. The Director will help their team grow and develop in their areas of expertise and ensure alignment of the work they perform with the greater Marketing team and go-to-market and go-to-channel strategies.

Key Responsibilities

  • Create and own field marketing plan and budget for global enterprise markets
  • Understand and translate the industry landscape and key issues and monitor trends
  • Build and maintain segment-specific buyer personas and refine based on industry knowledge
  • Define the market opportunity and categorize what form of solution should enter their segments
  • Tailor solution positioning and inform IMC on messaging priority to improve alignment with target customer segments
  • Team with customer engagement/demand marketing to develop integrated demand programs, mapping themes and content to enterprise segments
  • Partner with sales on the best routes to market for solutions, products and bundlesCollaborate and partner with strategic marketing, product marketing, pricing/promotions, customer engagement, and integrated marketing
  • Collaborate with sales leadership, marketing leadership, and enterprise sales leadership to ensure trajectory to sales and revenue forecasts and business plans

What we’re looking for...

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or Business Management or related field and/or equivalent work experience; Master's degree/MBA strongly desired
  • 10+ years marketing experience
  • Strong writing/presentation skills
  • Demonstrated success in developing strategies for creating new customer markets through direct, indirect, digital, field marketing, and account-based marketing programs (omni-channel)
  • Able to analyze segment critical KPI information and translate into proactive and reactive segment marketing strategies
  • Experience building and maintaining segment buyer personas, buyer journey maps, and target customer profiles
  • Able to link campaign launches to segment campaign themes and goals
  • Collaborative leader with a track record of establishing and facilitating effective cross-functional partnerships
  • Intellectually curious and appreciative of learning new skills and capabilities
  • Leverages research to qualify and design new segment marketing and customer programsAble to drive deeper understanding of customer needs, buying behavior, sentiment, and expectations for solutions
  • Provides insights, best practices, and thought leadership
