As the Sr. Quality Engineering Manager, you will help our Engineering Team to define, implement, and measure the practices to ensure that our software provides value to our customers by delivering reliable, reproducible, and defect free software and workflows. You will help achieve this by working with our Quality Engineers, DevOps Engineers, and Software engineers to both setup new testing frameworks and refine automated testing. Your team will help guide the Engineering teams to ensure that the customer requirements are constantly met with high quality software and delivery.
Directly manage a team of Software Engineers and Quality Engineers across our mobile and cloud applications
Hire, manage, mentor and coach team members to be successful contributors
Collaborate with cross-team representatives from Product, Engineering, Customer Success, and Marketing
Develop and provide software quality metrics to the department and Sr. Leadership
Drive test automation coverage for mobile and cloud applications
Scope regression testing efforts for releases small and large
Maintain and implement tools to increase test case documentation and efficiency
Design, document, and execute test procedures
Analyze test results, perform root cause analysis and file bug tickets as necessary
Monitor and maintain metrics on test results such as find/fix rates, performance issues, etc.
Position the Quality Engineers to advise on and contribute to testing methodologies, development practices to enable testing, and effective tests.
Work with engineering teams to optimize testing to allow for shorter, faster testing cycles and to provide feedback more quickly and earlier in the development process.
What we’re looking for...
You need to have:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Business, Aviation, or related discipline; or 4 years work experience
10+ years of relevant work experience in Software Engineering
5+ years in a leadership position with direct reports
Three or more years of technical program, project management experience
Even better if you have:
Experience managing third-party QA resources
Experience implementing, building and maintaining test strategies, automation frameworks and process improvements
Excellent communication skills. Collaboration with teams is a must!
Demonstrated experience with Agile Engineering teams
A proven track record of building and mentoring high performing teams
Experience with compliance related projects (SOC 2)
Aviation experience or a FAA Part 107 Certificate
Experience testing SaaS applications
Experience testing Mobile applications
