This position is for a junior level UI Designer on the Product UX + Design team. This team is responsible for elevating the design, user experience and interaction experience for all Verizon Location Services web and mobile products.

  • Conceptualizing and designing original, user-centered ideas that provide a consistent, intuitive, effective and visually engaging, location-aware experience.
  • Executing visual design stages from concept to final hand-off to engineering.
  • Interpreting user flows, wireframes, and low-fidelity prototypes to produce comps, high-fidelity interactive prototypes, and production-ready assets.
  • Ideating with and supporting UX Design on multiple simultaneous projects.
  • Collaborating with project managers, developers, and key stakeholders in an agile/scrum environment.

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years working experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • One or more years as a Graphic or UI designer.
  • Experience with mobile application design and a strong knowledge of Google Material Design and iOS Human Interface Guideline standards.

Even better if you have:

  • Ability to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Verbal skills and an ability to defend and explain design decisions.
  • Eye for design and the ability to think creatively while maintaining accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Online portfolio which demonstrates familiarity with design trends, a strong grasp of color theory, and an eye for composition that enhances immediate content comprehension.
  • Proficiency with Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, and Illustrator.
  • Proficiency with prototyping software such as Xd, Sketch, Figma, or Proto.io.
  • Ability to understand consumer needs, motivations, and behaviors and translate them into recommendations.
  • Ability to interpret usability study results and use them to inform design decisions.
  • Ability to work with ambiguity or when requirements are still in flux.
  • Experience working in an Agile/Scrum development process.
  • Comfortable with standard project management and communication tools (JIRA/Slack/Confluence/Google Docs).
  • Able to work from our downtown Denver headquarters.
