What you’ll be doing...
As a Senior Data Science / Engineer / Analyst, you will be responsible for implementing streaming solutions in a big data environment which will discover patterns in massive amounts of network data (Utilization, Probes, Topology, etc.). This will include implementing descriptive, predictive and prescriptive capabilities to improve the network and thereby improve the customer experience.
In you role, you will working on a groundbreaking approach to mining billions / trillions of network events and performance metrics a day to generate actionable alarms, which would have resulted in a customer impacting event. This approach leverages the massive streaming data crunching and storage capability of Hadoop infrastructure combined with power of in stream rules engine and various forecasting techniques.
- Catch issues in the network that are affecting the customer experience.
- Predict issues in the network that will affect customer experience.
- Enable the network operations centers to repair the network before there is a degradation.
- Work on Hadoop infrastructure capable of streaming 100+Terabyte / day in near real-time.
- Perform tasks on infrastructure consisting of Druid and MemSQL which deliveries sub second response to network operations and repair organizations.
- Understand Node.JS and React framework which enables state of the art User interfaces to be leveraged across multiple IT systems within both Wireline and Wireless branches of the company.
What we’re looking for...
Using a mixture of industry tools and IT developed capabilities, you will work in an environment that includes tools appropriate to add value to the business.
You will need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in Data Mining, Preparation and Modeling.
- Experience with Python Language or comparable statistical analysis language.
- Knowledge of tools for data preparation (Python, Java, Perl, R, etc.)
- Experience with Spotfire, Tableau, OBIEE or other Business Intelligence / visualization software.
Even better if you have:
- BA / BS and/or five years in IT related fields with Data Analytics, Engineering and /or Science.
- Ability to bring analytics to a production environment using the Hadoop platform, Microservices and containerized UI components (Node.js / React).
- AI / ML Framework experience using TensorFlow.
- Knowledge in different modeling techniques, application and implementation – logistic regression, cluster analysis, discriminant, DEA, time series, neural networks, survival analysis.
- Experience using Hadoop cluster technologies for streaming very large data flows (aka Kafka, Spark, or Storm) into a NonSQL or SQL engine (aka Druid or MemSQL)
- Ability to clearly communicate findings to audiences including IT peers, Business Partners and executives.
- Interpersonal and problem solving skills.
- A self-starter which can see a project from its inception through to completion.
- Ability to drive discussions and reach actionable outcomes that drive value back into the business
- Willingness to travel.
