What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Global Professional Services (PS) organization provides consulting, design, implementation, and management to Verizon’s Enterprise, Medium Business, and Government customers. The Business Consulting Practice provides sales teams with a common vocabulary, visuals, service descriptions, and process that help facilitate client executive dialogues around complex PS services and products as well as coordinate post complex sales delivery. This allows our sales teams the ability to better identify, qualify, prioritize and sell leveraging our practices.

The Emerging Technology Consulting Partner may be aligned to a particular vertical market or cross-vertical, and is responsible for driving Advanced Communication, CX/DX Customer Experience Solutions and PS revenue. The BCP is responsible for establishing strong and mutually beneficial business partner relationships with senior level executives among premier Verizon customers. Their objective is to gain strategic insight into the clients’ business operations and help identify the requirements, establish criteria and align priorities that produce the right solution(s) resulting in increased revenue generation.

In this role, you'll be responsible for:

  • Partnering with our sales teams to help create solutions on digital transformational business opportunities.
  • Integrate customer’s business drivers focused on technical solution sets from Verizon solution pillars.
  • Review and analyze current technology infrastructure and its ability to support our client’s strategic corporate objectives.
  • Translate customer business issues/opportunities into technical solution/business requirements.
  • Identify and propose specific strategies, initiatives and alternatives necessary to align technology infrastructure with corporate objectives.
  • Identify, pursue and propose new consulting opportunities that advance the client’s strategic business objectives.
  • Consult with client business units to gain understanding of business requirements and value to the organization.
  • Map conceptual designs, transition plans, and technology to address business unit requirements.
  • Build and communicate the value proposition of the end-to-end solution to client executives and drive transformational business activities.


What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or four more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience providing managed IT and/or telecom services to enterprise clients (Public or Private) at the CxO level.
  • Ten years’ experience in the following:
    • Customer-facing Pre- and Post-Sale technical consulting technical role (i.e. Solutions Architect, Portfolio Partner) assessing and advising the clients of their current and future needs.
    • Consulting for large scale complex, multi-departmental solutions.
    • Demonstrated and verifiable track record of prior successful customer engagements. (Examples of solution designs, statements of work and/or technical project plans to be provided).
    • Architecture to include conceptualization, definition, development and implementation of solutions with accountability for end to end delivery.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • MBA or Master’s Degree in a technical field.
  • Strong knowledge of one or more vertical businesses (Public Sector, Retail, Finance, Manufacturing, Utilities, Healthcare, Logistics, etc.) for which the enterprise architecture is being developed.
  • General knowledge in all of the following with an in-depth knowledge in the development and implementation of at least (2) technologies:
    • Unified Communications
    • Contact Centers
    • Advanced Networking
    • Security
    • Mobility and M2M
    • Internet of Things (IoT) & Analytics
    • Cloud
  • Leading industry certifications at least one or more of the following technology areas is highly desired:
    • TOGAF
    • Service Delivery/Governance: ITILv3
    • Project Management: PMP, PgMP
    • Networking: Cisco, Juniper
    • Unified Communication: Avaya, Polycom, Cisco, MS
    • Contact Center: Genesys, Five9, Nice, Nuance, Aspect
    • Cloud: AWS, Azure, Google
    • Mobility: Aruba, Citrix, Cisco
    • Machine to Machine (M2M)/ Internet of Things (IoT): Cisco, Oracle, Axeda
  • Experience preparing customer-facing material such as RFP responses, proactive proposals and solution designs.
  • Strong leadership, negotiation, conflict resolution and consensus-building skills with business and technical groups.
  • Big 5 consulting experience.
  • Successful delivery with matrix reports in a cross discipline project.
  • Support customer and Verizon cross-functional teams through the sales, implementation, and support lifecycles.
  • Partner with cross-functional Professional Services teams to develop integrated end-to-end solutions for customer.
  • Participate as a member of the Senior Leadership Team in the Client-facing Governance Program.
  • Develop business case justifications and cost/benefit analyses with client for architectural spending and initiatives.
  • Contribute to Sales Team development of Strategic Account Plans for premier customers.
