What you’ll be doing...

The Inventory Planning Manager role within Global Supply Chain will be focused on the end to end project management activities associated with Verizon network inventory. The position will lead the development of new field inventory based initiatives to meet the department’s financial and operational goals. This position will focus on all aspects related to network inventory, with a specific focus on the reverse process, inventory management, remote monitoring, and inventory auditing. The position will cover field inventory across Verizon’s footprint in all 50 states. Other requirements include:

  • Continually improve and develop business performance, including automation and Lean practices.
  • Execute supply chain projects from planning through execution and provide findings resulting from project execution.
  • Identify and deliver opportunities for cost reduction, driving savings in-line with overall business expectations, ensuring targets for cost reduction are achieved and/or exceeded.
  • Establish key performance indicator tracking methodology and develop corresponding management reports.
  • Monitor operational and financial data, and key performance metrics; analyze high variances or exposure areas and trends; define and implement solutions that positively impact the operating revenue and costs.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Lean Six Sigma processes.
  • Understand value stream mapping and how delivery service level changes impacts the overall organization.
  • Conduct analysis of current process design; determine necessary revisions and implement new process to support business client needs.
  • Collaborate cross functionally with the Global Supply Chain to ensure process improvement measures are being reviewed, developed and implemented.
  • Benchmark and measure against external market based solutions and provide adoption recommendations that will improve processes and functions.
  • Daily interaction and teaming with internal and external clients, including Sourcing, Procurement, IT, Network Assurance, and third party suppliers.

Some of the responsibilities include, but are not limited to, Project Management, Process Analysis, Executive Briefing, Business Case Creation, Financial Review, and Vendor Alignment/Management. These activities require a full enterprise view of how the supplier and Verizon are engaged and aligned across the business footprint. This position is responsible for leading strategic initiatives across the supply chain with key partners, leveraging a data-driven and collaborative approach.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Project Management skills.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree in Supply Chain, Engineering, Computer Science, Math or relevant fields.
  • MBA, PMP, or relevant certification.
  • Seven or more years of project management related work.
  • Experience working with/manipulating data to make data driven decisions.
  • Six Sigma Certification.
  • Ability to facilitate group meetings/discussions.
  • Demonstrated decision making and problem solving techniques.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Capability to manage multiple vendors/projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with SQL, Oracle BI, data warehousing.
  • Proficiency in Excel, Project, Access, Word, PowerPoint.
