What you’ll be doing...

In this entry level Transaction Tax role in our Gross Receipts Tax Team, we will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm as well as learn the practical application of your degree concepts. You will be front and center, working on real world tax situations in a high energy, fast paced environment. You will put your degree to use and gain experience in a new field through on the job training.

In Transaction Tax, we aim to make life easier for our customers and support our employees. In this role, you may have the opportunity to:

  • Contribute your ideas and fresh perspective to our continuous process improvement culture.
  • File State and Local Gross Receipt Tax Returns (which are similar to Corporate Income Tax Returns).
  • Perform analyses of revenue, deductions and exemptions on a monthly and annual basis.
  • Learn how to pull and review statutes, regulations and laws to be able to determine accurate taxability for filings.
  • Query and data from external databases into Excel.
  • Understand what is needed to investigate and explain month over month variances by analyzing data and working with other business groups when necessary.
  • Manage our tax calendar to prepare assigned returns accurately and timely in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, judicial decisions, and rulings issued.
  • Help to identify savings opportunities and look for ways to streamline processes.
  • Work with our research and planning Team where necessary to investigate and comply with new return requirements by state and local taxing authorities.
  • Liaison and partner with various Teams both within and outside the Tax Department including Tax Legal, Tax IT, Revenue Accounting, Billing, etc.
  • Develop the professional skills necessary for success in your career.

You’ll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor's degree program in Accounting or Finance at an accredited college or university with an expected completion date by June 2020.
  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

Even better if you have:

  • GPA of 3.0 or higher.
  • Demonstrated independent thinking, relationship management and attention to detail.
  • Demonstrated strong analytical, communication, leadership and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-moving, team environment.
  • High proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite of Products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
