What you’ll be doing...
Skyward, A Verizon Company is hiring a Regulatory specialist capable of obtaining regulatory approval for customers and Skyward Professional Services. You have extensive and documented experience obtaining complex airspace authorizations and waivers from Federal, State, County, City, and municipalities for complex drone operations such as BVLOS or operating over people. You must be able to liaise with authorities (namely, the FAA) as well as customers. Engagements may include -- but are not limited to -- operational waivers for 14 CFR Part 107, authorization requests (class B, C, D), providing training to customers and team members on regulations, developing SOPs to reflect changes in regulations. You must be able to self-delegate, communicate with all stakeholders, and track and report progress of authorizations and waivers requested. You must be able to travel within the USA and abroad to a lesser extent.
You will become intimately familiar with Skyward’s Software and Professional Services and stay up to date on relevant regulation changes. You will collaborate with clients, and other Skyward resources to recommend the appropriate regulatory support service for the customer’s needs.
The Professional Services will work closely with Skyward professional services SMEs to manage the projects for delivering sUAS regulatory, technical, and operational, consulting services.
- Coordinate with internal resources and third parties, vendors, clients for the flawless execution of projects requiring regulatory support.
- Ensure that all waiver and authorization requests are completed timely, within scope and within budget.
- Develop a Concept of Operations (ConOps) detailing how to operate within provisions of a waiver or authorization.
- Manage the communication with the client and all stakeholders.
- Create and maintain comprehensive project plans & action plans for operating within special provisions of regulatory permission.
- Meet via video conference or in person with clients to take detailed briefs and clarify specific requirements of each project.
- Work proactively with Project Managers to ensure time, budget, quality are not affected.
- Retrospectively analyze previous engagements for factors contributing to the successful delivery of services and regulatory support.
- Travel to client sites to support onsite services as needed.
What we’re looking for...
You'll need to Have:
- Bachelor’s degree with four or more years of experience.
- Four or more years of relevant work experience.
- Current 14 CFR Part 107 remote pilot certificate and responsible for renewing upon expiry.
- Ability to learn the Skyward SaaS platform (web and mobile apps) at expert-level proficiency.
- Ability to travel within the continental USA and internationally to a lesser extent.
- Willingness to wear Skyward provided standard equipment.
- Willingness to use Skyward training guidelines and policies.
Even Better if You Have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in appropriate field of study or equivalent work experience.
- Five or more years working experience of regulatory expertise on complex operations such as operating over people or BVLOS.
- Written and verbal communication skills.
- Organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking.
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office, G-Suite, Salesforce, and Project Management tools.
- Knowledge of drone industry tools such as Ground Control Stations.
- Current 14 CFR Part 107 remote pilot certificate and responsible for renewing.
- Familiarity with sUAS technology and sensors such as LiDAR, thermal, etc.
- Successfully applied for and obtained a variety of operational waivers to 14 CFR Part 107.
