What you’ll be doing...
Verizon is looking for an individual to join their IoT Service Management team that manages the availability, reliability, performance and capacity of IoT applications and end-to-end IoT services by performing the engineering, operations and support of highly available IoT applications and end-to-end services that consist of components located in a variety of internal and external physical, virtual and cloud environments.
- Providing deep expertise and leadership as a subject matter expert into the applications, systems and technologies that make up end-to-end IoT services.
- Operating independently, working across disparate functional groups to document service offerings, understand interfaces and applications, be a stakeholder in roadmaps and planning, gather and monitor capacity and KPIs and be able to drive process and technical improvements.
- Collaborating and leading teams of stakeholders and vendors from across different functional groups to ensure that the IoT services are well planned, engineered, and operated
- Assisting in defining, developing, improving and deploying work products focused on IoT end-to-end services.
- Driving improvement across functional groups with a heavy focus on leveraging and looking for opportunities to enhance process and technologies that increase efficiency through self-service, automation and orchestration
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Six or more years of relevant work experience.
- Technical certifications or SME experience in relevant service areas (Systems, Device, Wireless, Network).
- A solid balance of technology and business skills and abilities.
Even better if you have:
- A degree.
- Five or more years of experience with System Management / Engineering.
- Two or more years of experience in leadership role.
- General industry certifications (Security, OS, Cloud,ITIL).
- IoT knowledge and work experience.
- Experience in disaster recovery, business continuity, risk identification, mitigation strategies, and emergency preparedness.
- Knowledge of KPI tools including Netscout, SevOne, and IrisView.
- Knowledge of LTE, IMS, VoLTE and IoT connectivity and provisioning call flows.
- Project management experience, with strong leadership skills and the ability to drive teams to consensus.
- Knowledge of cloud computing, Network Functions Virtualized (NFV), and Software Defined Networks.
- Knowledge of design principles of OpenStack architecture and how applications operate in an OpenStack cloud.
- Experience with Python, Ansible or other automation tools.
- Willingness to travel.
