What you’ll be doing...

The Engineering Program Office Data Science Team has an immediate opening for a talented and experienced Reporting and Visualization specialist with hands on expertise who will help drive executive communications, reporting and storytelling. The role demands experienced skillset as an individual contributor who can work seamless to paraphrase and chart in layman terms for C level executives while being equally comfortable designing and delivering KPIs and insights using detailed reports and analytics. Creative problem solving using your knowledge of UX principles, UI design paradigms, will be central to this role that will not be limited to data visualization and storytelling, but extend to include data governance, data modeling and data management. You will need to demonstrate your ability to produce high-quality deliverable with minimal oversight, plan projects and work with cross-functional teams, generate concise communication for executives, work time crunches and manage changing priorities and short timelines and have an indefatigable intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn about multi-channel operation.

  • Design and implement robust, flexible dashboards that transform massive amounts of data into actionable business insights.
  • Use sophisticated analytical techniques to derive insights for delivering quality, productivity, and customer experience among other things.
  • Demonstrate a proficiency in dimensional data modelling, data warehousing and reporting table development.
  • Be part of a PMO that drives program outcomes.
  • Understand business processes in depth to facilitate meaningful discussions with business stakeholders and how to drive development of dashboards that can drive measurable outcomes.
  • Engage with stakeholders to get buy-in on KPIs you decide to track along with ability to drive consensus on methodology for measurement of the same are part of this role.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience.
  • Five or more years of relevant professional experience in business intelligence or analytics team.
  • Five or more years of experience designing and developing business facing dashboards, and data visualizations in BI platforms such as Tableau, QlikView, OBIEE, BO or comparable tool.
  • Experience using SQL, ETL, and databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in a quantitative field such as math, computer science, engineering, or finance, statistics.
  • MBA in a quantitative field such as math, computer science, engineering, finance, or statistics or a super specialization like Master’s Degree in Data Analytics and Visualization.
  • Experience with R, Python, or another scripting language.
  • Geospatial Analytics experience using ESRI’s Arc suite and/or PostGIS.
  • Certified Business Intelligence Professional or An advanced degree/certificate related to business intelligence, statistics, programming, or other related technical discipline.
  • Familiar with Verizon’s IT department and systems.
  • Ability to work effectively in a highly matrixed, globally dispersed organization.
  • Ability to manage multiple competing priorities simultaneously and drive projects to completion.
  • Verbal and written communication skills; ability to engage effectively with a broad range of audiences including senior business leaders, other senior analytics leaders, and highly technical talent.
  • Consulting experience with “Big 5” consulting companies.
