What you’ll be doing...

The advent of a seminal shift in cloud computing architecture, the move to 5G and the continued rise of a service-oriented network architecture present a unique opportunity for Verizon to define the next generation of technology infrastructure and ecosystems. This transformation provides those who work here the opportunity to shape technology for the next 10 years. We are as excited about our unique ability to develop next generation platforms, influence technology standards, forge durable business partnerships, and define the playing field for the next wave of technology innovation as those who built the tech highways in prior eras.

The Manager of Strategy focused on cloud go-to-market will play a leadership role in guiding Verizon’s approach to this opportunity via management of internal processes that define the financial and business impact of go-to-market and product choices made for key platforms and offerings in the cloud arena. You will drive action by managing relationships with internal product, sales and marketing, partnership, and financial teams, as well as with relevant external entities, while producing original content for senior leadership and diving deep into product design, product roadmaps, and financial models.

In this role, you will

  • Drive and lead analysis for new business opportunities by leveraging the Verizon Strategy process – problem solving around critical business issues, creating valuation models to assess different options, and utilizing data science tools to support analysis and new solutions.
  • Advise on the allocation of corporate capital in this area based on a track record of capital advisory and/or investment management with an appreciation of long-term cash flow’s value.
  • Support the development of cloud go-to-market and partnership roadmaps that best realize financial value while recognizing and exceeding the needs of customers – leveraging business models and experience from software-as-a-service (SaaS), platform-as-a-service (PaaS), and infrastructure as-a-service (IaaS) companies.
  • Elevate the voice of the customer as the top priority – engage with and evangelize with developer communities to bolster the value of a new product offering, grasping the challenges developers face in their daily work and the tools and business models that best achieve near-term ROI for developers and their organizations.
  • Communicate and elevate a business-to-developer offering, understanding the different steps compared to business-to-business (B2B) or business-to-consumer approaches.
  • Partner to drive execution – working alongside leaders to drive execution, facilitating governance and communication processes for select projects.
