What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Corporate Strategy’s Business Development & Partner Management team identifies winning strategic opportunities and leads the development of an ecosystem to generate new revenue growth and profitability. The team oversees business development to cultivate external opportunities, determining greatest fit and benefit to Verizon. As a key function, the team will drive market recommendations across alliances, commercial partnerships, acquisitions or ventures. To do so, the team is required to lead partnership management with external and internal senior leaders.

Reporting to Senior Vice President, you will be responsible for framing strategic opportunities and leading commercial model design.

Responsibilities:

  • Partnering and ecosystem war gaming, as well as, evaluating and providing recommendations on cross-company strategic/value tradeoffs, cross-company total dollars and shareholder value analysis.

  • Collaborating across Verizon, identifying trends, and partnering with business departments on growth opportunities, as well as, analyzing and framing business models and deals.

  • Providing build, buy and partner scenarios, and framing deal scenarios for decision making.

  • Using financial analysis to identify competing interests, prioritize, and evaluate using shareholder value analysis, your role will determine how to maximize Verizon’s leverage.

  • You are a self-starter, creative and innovative thinker.

  • You are professionally polished with sound business acumen, deep financial knowledge, and excellent research and analytical skills.

  • Talking to people comes very naturally to you and you have an ability to communicate and present complex information in a way that people understand – whether verbal or written.

  • You will have experience in collaborating with a diverse set of stakeholders to get results across multiple groups and disciplines.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in financial modeling/forecasting.
  • Extensive experience with slide creation for executive proposals.
  • Pinpointing external change and making growth recommendations using Verizon’s “where to play, how to win” framework.
  • Product development background (from proposal stage through implementation).
  • Experience in competitive intelligence/ecosystem war-gaming (identifying company status as partners, competition, or ally).
  • Experience in cross-functional collaboration with a diverse set of stakeholders to get results across multiple groups and disciplines throughout the organization.
  • Ability to demonstrate strategic thinking, market analysis and creative thought leadership.
  • Three or more years of experience in telecommunication, media or technology industries.
  • Four or more years of experience in strategy and/or consulting.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • An MBA.
