What you’ll be doing...
Join Verizon in this position which expands our cloud security team with a role emphasis on risk mitigation. This exciting growth opportunity shall act in partnership with key stakeholders to identify vulnerabilities, then prioritize and implement detailed plans in order to reduce risk to the business. You shall be responsible for improving network and platform security posture by developing actionable risk mitigation plans, monitoring implementation of mitigation tasks, and validating remediation progress. Your role also encompasses delivering key metrics to stakeholders in common language that our partners can understand and act on. As security custodians of Verizon cloud and virtualization technologies, and thus part of our overall 5G strategy, the best candidates will embrace automation and innovation in order to ensure the best outcomes for our customers.

What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
- Four or more years of relevant work experience.
- Experience in Information Security, Technology, IT Operations, or Security Risk Management.
- Experience with Unix/Linux server Operating systems and security O/S configuration principles.
Even better if you have:
- A degree in Information Systems, Technology, Information Assurance, Information Security or related field.
- Experience with ISO 27001-2, NIST 800-53, and NIST 800-171, NIST CSF or other security frameworks.
- Experience with virtualization technologies and private or public cloud products, like Openstack, AWS, Azure, Google, etc.
- Knowledge and proven record of success in risk management principles or another technical domain related to Risk Management that is applied in the context of a broader Risk Management perspective.
- Knowledge of security testing tools used for network/ Web API/ applications, such as Nmap, Kali Linux, Parrot, Nessus, Burp suite, and WebInspect
- Knowledge of the various TCP/UDP protocols and their security posture.
- Certifications: CRISC, CISSP, CCSP, CISM, GSEC.
- Knowledge of emerging technology, regulations, and security governance.
- Experience implementing policies, standards, guidelines, frameworks and controls.
- Experience with best practices and industry standards for protecting information assets.
- Knowledge of cybersecurity risk management concepts, frameworks, control standards, secure coding principles, and technologies.
- Interpersonal skills and the ability to thrive in a team environment.
- Ability to develop creative and innovative solutions to complex business issues.
