What you’ll be doing...

  • Develop the International Accounting COE in partnership with International Accounting leadership, Regional Accounting teams and the US Accounting COEs.
  • Support International Accounting/ Finance transformation including centralization of accounting & compliance activities.
  • Support and help manage aspects such as current state activity and process documentation, and lead/manage team in this regard.
  • Assist with identification and potential responsibility realignment solving for activities identified as non-Accounting e.g. B2C, Payroll and AP.
  • Provide oversight and lead a team of functional experts to improve the overall end-to-end International Accounting processes and methodologies to increase standardization and alignment across not only the Regions but to US Domestic processes.
  • Facilitate creation and maintenance of current & future state International Accounting process documentation including control aspects, leveraging existing US Accounting and existing International desktop procedures.
  • Investigate, define and execute best-in-class strategic enhancements and alignments to the current processes.
  • Be the primary point of communication and collaboration for International process and functional area inquiries and initiatives, bringing together the Regional views.
  • Improve International balance sheet quality within the International Accounting, including alignment wherever possible and practical with the US.
  • Give visibility to potential issues and concerns at the earliest possible time to support potential solutions and risk mitigation.
  • Provide timely data, reporting and needed analytics to the key stakeholders on COE initiatives, metrics, opportunities and progress including senior management.
  • Provide periodic updates on the status of the COE initiatives and escalate issues.
  • Handle or coordinate International Accounting informational activities and efforts.
  • Work with Corporate Accounting and the Regional Accounting teams on the interpretation of the US GAAP and local GAAP guidance for the complex accounting treatments, driving for as much regional and global consistency as possible.
  • Create a culture of ongoing self-assessment to continuously improve the effectiveness and the efficiency of the International Accounting process standards.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • BA/BS degree in Business, Accounting, Finance or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Large or medium size company accounting experience.
  • Project management experience, including initiating, planning, executing, monitoring and closing of projects.
  • Experience designing and implementing accounting processes, running continuous improvement projects, and conducting root cause analysis.
  • Working knowledge of accounting systems and applications such as SAP, PMR, and Blackline.
  • Strong knowledge in US Accounting (FASB, SEC & US GAAP practices) and International accounting practices, including local statutory reporting and IFRS.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office & Google Suite, Excel.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • CPA certification (or International equivalent).
  • Big 4 accounting/advisory/audit experience.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Good team, organizational planning skills, sound judgment, can work with a high sense of urgency, attention to detail and strong time management.
  • Demonstrated Shared Service Center experience within a global, publicly traded company.
