This role will support development of the long-term growth strategy for the Consumer market for Verizon Wireless. The successful candidate will provide thought leadership to Verizon's most senior leaders in the Wireless business unit on the most relevant topics in the consumer space, with objective, clear, impactful analysis.

Strategy definition

  • Identify emerging trends, risks and opportunities in the wireless consumer space
  • Develop structured, long-term perspectives for key consumer topics, with a strong outside-in orientation
  • Drive action from insights, progressing slide-ware towards execution
  • Identify and cultivate strategic partnerships
  • Support the strategic planning process for Verizon Wireless

Competitive analysis

  • Translate consumer, competitor, technology and market trends into implications for senior Wireless leadership
  • Develop fact-based, quantitative analysis of consumer and competitive trends, with actionable insights and recommendations
  • Quickly build high-level business models and business cases for new wireless opportunities

Executive support and stakeholder management

  • Support senior leadership in crafting analysis, actions and messaging for key strategic topics
  • Work closely with product teams to imbue business cases with objective strategic rationale and financial analysis
  • Foster and facilitate alignment across the Wireless business unit - Marketing, Distribution, Care, Digital, Finance

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Relevant work experience includes:
    • Management / strategy consulting
    • Investment banking / private equity / venture capital
    • Competitive insights / market research
    • Product strategy
    • Project management experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience in the telecom and/or consumer sector(s) strongly desirable.
  • High-energy, strategic thinker, with strong quantitative and analytical skills, and critical thinking abilities.
  • Experience in corporate strategy and/or consulting.
  • Great sense of intellectual curiosity about the mobile space and how mobile can impact society.
  • Strong written and oral communication and presentation skills. Experience supporting executive-level communications in a rapid-paced environment a plus.
  • Financial modeling experience a plus.
  • Agility with Powerpoint and Excel.
  • Experience working in a large, dynamic, complex organization, where developing strong interpersonal relationships and leading through influence are keys to success.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and a changing environment with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong sense of accountability in delivering rigorous, impactful analysis.
  • Excellent academic background. Masters or MBA, desirable.
