FP&A Center of Excellence Team
Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon, calls for improving our ability to deliver exceptional value to our customers. Being a part of the Center of Excellence (COE) team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. You will be involved in, target setting, reporting & analysis, planning and forecasting, and guiding the strategic direction across Verizon. Explore the breadth of opportunities that come with aligning your expertise with the future of superior networks, systems, analytics and video, to improve the way people live work and play.

  • Identify business processes and system improvements in collaboration with internal business users.
  • Compile documentation for business process and data requirements.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing with business users and collaborate with the Financial Systems-IT group as needed to resolve discrepancies.
  • Distill training content into a working draft of materials to educate customer(s) on utilizing implemented processes and/or systems.
  • Analyze implemented processes and systems performance; ensure processes are performing as expected and report when there are deviations to expected outcomes.
  • Participate in post-mortem process led by Process Improvement Managers.
  • Handle monthly support activities and special projects as required.
  • Communicate with stakeholders in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop systems expertise to ensure internal user questions regarding FP&A systems are remediated in a timely and thorough manner.
  • In conjunction with both development and FP&A users, develop and submit user requirements which will continue to ensure state-of-the-art FP&A systems.
  • Ensure timely delivery of the aforementioned solutions while communicating project status to various internal constituents.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Math, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science; or four or more years of work experience.
  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite, including Access and Excel.
  • Experience with Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) systems (Hyperion Essbase and/or Hyperion Planning or similar systems).

Even better if you have:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business, Math, Management Information Systems, or Computer Science.
  • Certifications: Six Sigma, Oracle/Hyperion, PMP, CBIP, and/or CBAP.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Experience performing FP&A functions, such as reporting & analysis, planning and forecasting, and/or target setting.
  • Strong communication, customer service, and presentation skills with the proven ability to focus on the details.
  • Experience in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and project management.
  • Knowledge in the design and interaction of business systems, data architecture, data sets, and applications.
  • Knowledge of SDLC processes in both waterfall and agile methods.
  • Knowledge in the usage of Oracle DRM, SAP MDG, Collibra, Hyperion Financial Management, and Hyperion Strategic Finance.
  • Knowledge in the usage of OBIEE, Tableau, Qlik, Teradata Analytic Services, SQL, and/or similar tools.
  • Willingness to travel.
