We’re growing! We are seeking a Senior Systems Engineer, for our Connected Vehicle Systems Engineering Team with the opportunity to have a major impact on our Customer Obsession. We need your technical leadership, sense of urgency, and attention to detail to build on new and existing programs.

  • Serve as primary technical contact for OEM and their connectivity hardware supplier(s) to help them gain access to Verizon requirements, test plans, and tools.
  • Become subject matter expert on device / SIM provisioning, activation, deactivation lifecycle.
  • Contribute to RFP technical proposal responses to win new business.
  • Work with sales teams to assist in closing new business and extending business in existing customers.
  • Assist OEM and suppliers in troubleshooting connectivity and provisioning issues.
  • Work with Verizon Technology teams and third party hardware suppliers to understand the latest developments in 5G & LTE technologies that are being deployed in the Verizon Network.
  • Identify, analyze and resolve program support deficiencies. Develops and recommends corrective actions.
  • Assist the QA team in test planning and reviews.
  • Work to develop requirements to enable vehicle roaming on partner MNOs. Coordinate related certification efforts.
  • Participate in the development of product Design Failure Mode Effects Analysis (DFMEA).
  • Onboard major automotive customer telematics and connectivity hardware to the Verizon Network.
  • Assist hardware suppliers in understanding device and network requirements so their designs meet Verizon certification requirements. Assist hardware suppliers in communicating and monitoring initial SMS, VoLTE, and data connectivity.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Five or more years of combined experience in the following areas: automotive component design, telecom device or infrastructure components, or consumer electronics development.
  • Three or more years of experience in embedded microprocessor electronics industry.
  • Design experience in systems, electrical, or software engineering discipline.
  • PC application skills as necessary for the position.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have:

  • Four-year college degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or Computer Science or relevant field.
  • Experience with the following type of tools: requirement development and management, system modeling, CAN bus trace, WireShark trace.
