What you’ll be doing...

We are looking to hire a Senior DevOps/Site Reliability Engineer for our infrastructure team. With GTS 2.0 and Northstar, our team is undergoing a major transformation focused on rapidly evolving our business towards a customer-centric, digital-first future. You will have to define, design, and solve the complex problem of sales & technology support to our agents and customers.
We are looking for experienced DevOps professionals to join our growing organization. In this position, you will be designing and implementing CI/CD DevOps solutions based on the latest industry trends, including complete automation. Keen attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and a solid knowledge base is essential. Point of Sale (POS) is a suite of application systems geared to support users within several internal departments to process a variety of customer transactions, including equipment sales and ordering, airtime service sales, bill payments, equipment returns and repairs, account maintenance, pricing, inventory and discounting and rebates.

  • Ensuring optimum performance, high availability, and stability of solutions and the container orchestration platform (Docker/Kubernetes) is regularly maintained and released to non-production without any downtime.
  • Monitoring the container orchestration platform (Docker/Kubernetes) for availability, latency, performance, and system health.
  • Assisting in the development to migrate applications to Docker/Kubernetes based PaaS.
  • Implementing and maintaining automation platform deployments and management.
  • Integrating and automating platform support and maintenance activities utilizing the CICD (Jenkins, Ansible, CFT, etc.).
  • Leveraging and managing CI/CD toolchain products like Jira, STASH, Git, and Jenkins.
  • Working closely with the application teams internal to Verizon, to drive adoption of the container solution, setting up orchestration for application deployments. Guiding development teams on best practices to containerize applications.
  • Designing and building K8S/EKS environments based on the application systems requirements.
  • Designing and developing DevOps pipeline with Sonar, Twistlock, Fortify, QA regression scripts, Performance scripts, other CI/CD tools.
  • Coding deployment in Dev, QA environments.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Experience with designing and implementing CI/CD DevOps solutions using Jenkins pipelines using Python, Git, Shell, YAML, OpenIG, Kubernetes, EKS, and Docker.
  • Experience with container and orchestration technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
  • Experience with MVC architecture using Spring Boot, Spring CORE, Spring MVC, Struts frameworks.
  • Experience with Nexus and artifact management.
  • Experience with middleware rules engines using JMS and Drools.
  • Knowledge of Spring Cloud, AWS, AWS IoT and Google Clouds technologies.
  • AWS Certification.
