What you’ll be doing...

This internship position – which is part of the Verizon Campus Program – will give you a chance to channel your drive and enthusiasm while learning from the best minds in the industry. You’ll be front and center, hands-on, and contributing your creative energy to high-impact projects from the moment you arrive through the course of this 10-week experience. You will take part in meaningful work and real-life projects within the Global Technology Solutions Organization that will help you grow both professionally and personally throughout the program.

As an Data Analytics Intern, you may have the opportunity to:

  • Be a critical part in identifying and analyzing solutions and developing the desired outcomes for the WNO organization.

  • Assist with information and analysis to help the organization make informed decisions.

  • Perform initial analysis to assess the quality of data, a methodical and logical approach, and be able to apply excellent mathematical skills and apply importantly accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Primarily assist with gathering various data points from systems such as NORM, NAR, WNO metrics.

  • Use data to perform analysis using analytical tools such as Tableau.

  • Create various reports, dashboards, and views to share with the team and the field.

  • Learn how to use the analytical tools and how to present analysis to a team/leadership.

  • Perform deep dive analysis on strategic initiatives to identify opportunities to reduce cost and drive efficiency in the areas of safety, motor vehicles, force modeling and strategic capital programs. This will include field visits to gain a fundamental understanding of the work that is performed by technicians.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and in good academic standing to be considered.

You’ll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s program in Computer Science, Business Administration, Business Analytics, or related major with an expected completion date between December 2021 and June 2022.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  • A valid U.S. driver’s license.

  • Willingness to work in Silver Springs, MD

Even better if you have:

  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills.

  • Proficient with Microsoft, Excel and PowerPoint.

  • Strong communication skills both written and orally.

  • Strong mathematical skills.

  • Knowledge of statistical analysis and data analysis.

  • Experience with Agile methodology, Tableau and/or related skills.
