What you’ll be doing...

Join our Information Technology team where you will work on new technologies and find ways to meet our customers’ needs and make it easy for them to do business with us. You will work fairly independently on more complex operational & technical projects, issues, systems and applications. You will use your experience, expertise and skills to solve problems that are more difficult & infrequent.

  • Meet with business partners to understand the business problems or needs
  • Come up with creative solutions to solve the business problems
  • Analyze architecture, relationship between systems, and systems flow of end-to-end designs.
  • Guide others to assess system usage trends and identify potential performance constraints with inter-system designs.
  • Evaluate solution’s alignment with the end user experience.
  • Develop systems and applications using complex algorithms to deliver business functions or architectural components.
  • Educate team members about integrating systems collaboratively & efficiently.
  • Homogenize the performance of the database and optimize system resources.
  • Support efforts related to the proper protection from corruption & encryption of sensitive information.
  • Reduce security threats with dependable & reliable security tools & software applications.
  • Evaluate how security impacts the design & development process of reliable networks.
  • Keep abreast of emerging industry trends to continuously update Verizon’s operations and assess how competition differs from Verizon’s current status.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Java, J2EE including both the language and troubleshooting various environment issues

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with all phases of the Software Development Lifecycle, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.
  • Experience in Telecom domain
  • Certification(s): Preference to Agile and DevOps Methodology certifications.
  • Experience with at least one of the following JavaScript frameworks (e.g. React, AngularJS, or Node.js) is preferred
  • Experience with C++ Programming in Linux environment
  • Experience with AWS
  • Experience with containers and container scheduling and management platforms such as: Docker, Kubernetes
  • Experience with logging and reporting solutions such as: Logstash, Elasticsearch, and Kibana (ELK), Grafana, or Splunk
  • Experience with infrastructure automation, infrastructure as code, automated application deployment, monitoring/telemetry, logging, reports/dashboards, and continuous delivery technologies
  • Experience in building high-performance infrastructures that are scalable and resilient
  • Problem solving skills to develop quick yet sound solutions to resolve complex issues.
  • Experience with Micro Services and domain driven design
  • Experience working in a DevOps development environment and agile framework
  • Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication, organizational skills and the ability to meet tight deadlines as group member or individual worker
