What you’ll be doing...

Program Manager for Verizon Business Group’s Public Sector product team. Responsible for Federal, State & Local, Education, and Public Safety program management as Chief of Staff to VP Public Sector Solutions. You will help convert segment strategy to needed product -delivered solutions, manage performance of team deliverables, updates and associated executive reporting, and be responsible for product accountabilities to Business Transformation initiatives, supporting the Vice President and management team. You will work closely with other leaders to advance Verizon’s Public Sector Business Product aspirations, including formulation of strategies, development of critical initiatives, and communication of progress and results.

  • Focal point for Public Sector Business Transformation initiatives that require new product development.
  • Work closely with leadership to develop strategies, manage key deliverables, and monitor results to effectively advance Verizon’s Public Sector Business Product objectives.
  • Supporting the progress of initiatives by facilitating frequent cross-functional collaboration sessions to address strategic topics, guiding the discussion to ensure alignment and coordinated action plans with clear ownership and deadlines.
  • Developing various meeting agendas and create strategic content, particularly for Business Product Council, Product Interlocks, Ops Reviews, weekly updates, and other meetings where the team must read out on results and deliver insight.
  • Creating visually compelling content for use in executive-level meetings that communicates complicated information in an engaging way.
  • Partnering with others to understand business challenges to offer strategic insight that will drive revenue growth and prevent churn.
  • Identifying and taking on ad hoc strategic projects that require collaboration across multiple teams.
  • Working with sales, marketing and other internal teams to ensure revenue and customer satisfaction goals are met with the product portfolio.
  • Understanding the needs of Public Sector Customers and collaborate with all of the Product Teams to build Solutions that leverage all of Verizon’s assets to help our Customers achieve their goals and objectives to move their business forward.

What we’re looking for...

If you need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business and/or related field with six or more years of work related experience.
  • Master's degree (MBA in Management).
  • Understanding of Public Sector market
  • Experience supporting VBG senior product management teams who manage products throughout a Product Lifecycle, gathering and prioritizing product and customer requirements, defining the product vision, holding others accountable and working closely with engineering, to deliver winning products.
  • Proven ability to influence cross-functional teams without formal authority.
  • Proven ability to interact and develop valued relationships with the most senior levels internal to Verizon.
  • Demonstrated effectiveness in the ability to ensure quality deliverables.
  • Experience preparing Executive Briefings for Executive Management.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience supporting VBG product management with product specifications/ requirements and defining and implementing product strategy/roadmaps.
  • Experience working for the Department of Defense DoD or other Public Sector entity with the overall management, control, coordination, and execution of assigned projects.
  • Project management experience with Smart Communities and/or OneFiber teams.
  • Experience in an Executive Engagement strategic business management role, with a special focus on executive-level support and communications.
  • Strong leadership skills and excellent written and verbal communications to clearly and regularly communicate status, issues and risks to executive stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical skills.
  • Experience managing large cross-functional teams.
  • Ability to quickly resolve complex problems and identify, develop and quantify any required corrective action to keep program schedules on track.
  • Understanding of VBG Product Management methodologies.
