What you’ll be doing...

The Systems Engineering team provides end-to-end detailed engineering, simulation, and analysis of wireless and wireline systems as typically defined by the Industry Forums and Network Planning to assist the Network Engineering teams in the development, deployment, and troubleshooting of complex systems.

  • Leads the architecture and design of the System Engineering Simulation and Analysis Framework for wireless (5G/4G)and wireline domain.
  • Lead with hands-on experience the software architecture and design for highly scalable enterprise wide simulation framework.
  • Gathers Simulation and Analysis Framework requirements through working with the System Engineering team and other internal GN&T organizations.
  • Researches innovative cloud computing platforms and plans the integration into the Simulation and Analysis Framework.
  • Research and apply AI / Analytics methodologies to the framework to improve its effectiveness.
  • Research new practices in Model-Based System Engineering (MBSE)
  • Coach and mentor more junior level team members.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Masters’ degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, and Computer Science.
  • Experience in developing software, deploying, and operationalizing telecom network functions.
  • Experience in architecting and managing Telecom simulation network solutions and platforms
  • Strong experience with architecting and developing modules in LTE, 5G (L1/L2/L3), IMS, VoLTE, Wi-Fi.
  • Experience with Real-time OS/Linux, Programming / Scripting languages (Python, Java, Perl, C#, C++).
  • Knowledge of major telecommunication ecosystem partners.
  • Experience in Telecom software and hardware solutions architecting.
  • Experience with Telecom Cloud computing/container/virtualization technologies: VMware, OpenStack, Kubernetes, Docker, Docker Swarm, etc.
  • Experience with simulation / diagnostic applications (e.g. MATLAB, OPNET, NS-3, Wireshark, etc.).
  • Experience with cloud computing, multi-threading, and efficient server loading for complex telecom applications.
  • Experience utilizing system diagnostics to troubleshoot issues and / or predict performance.
  • Familiarity with Analytics, Data Science, and Artificial Intelligence algorithms and methodologies-based development.
  • Understanding of Software development processes and maintenance best practices including the Agile Methodology.
  • Strong design/analysis skills and problem-solving capabilities.
  • Strong experience with Infrastructure design and architecture for enterprise architecture
  • Work experience or equivalent subject matter expertise across multiple technology areas.
  • Strong project management skills to execute on the roadmap.
  • The ability to work on a team and independently on multiple high priority projects.
  • Strong understanding and hands-on experience with IT infrastructure distributed systems operations.
  • Excellent communication and advanced presentation skills.
  • Ability to facilitate the collaborative resolution of differences with a “win-win” approach.
  • Proven organizational, interpersonal, and relationship skills.
  • Ability to drive innovation and technology adoption across organizations.
  • The ability to adapt daily to changing technical and business environments.
