What you’ll be doing...
Our customers want fast, reliable and secure video services delivered to their homes and offices. That’s where you come in. This position is a role on Verizon's Ad Insertion Operations Team. You’ll be working in support of that mission, performing analysis, maintenance, and upgrades of server hardware, operating systems, and software utilities in mission-critical production environments.
- Performs analysis, implementation, installation, maintenance, and upgrade of server hardware, OSs, and software.
- Provides daily operations support including, but not limited to: alert and platform monitoring, troubleshooting, capacity management, provisioning, hardware and software configuration, patching, upgrades and performance monitoring/tuning. Administers multiple servers and hardware, in a 24x7x365 production environment.
- Composes clear and concise documentation and reports.
- Troubleshoot issues in a concise and timely manner, providing rapid resolution to assigned issues.
What we’re looking for...
You’ll need to have:
- Associate's degree or two or more years of work experience.
- Threeor more years of relevant work experience.
- System administration experiences in Red Hat LINUX, CentOS and Windows
- Willingness to work in a 24x7 environment and support any shift.
Even better if you have any of the following:
- A degree in computer science.
- Experience with a multitude of OS tools and utilities for managing, monitoring and troubleshooting Linux and Windows infrastructure.
- Linux Shell, Windows PowerShell, or Python scripting experience.
- Experience with Ansible and Splunk.
- Experience with VmWare.
- Experience with supporting MSSQL database.
- Knowledge of NAS architectures.
- Experience administering servers, backup operations, and systems monitoring in multiple and complex network server environments.
- Experience with Server upgrades, O/S and firmware patching.
- Experience supporting mission critical systems 24x7x365.
- Certifications in Red Hat, Dell, Microsoft, Cisco, VmWare, Openstack, AWS, Advanced Ansible / GIT skills, Splunk.
- Willingness to travel.
