What you’ll be doing...

We are the specialized sales organization responsible for accelerating growth of advanced solutions with Verizon Public Sector clients and agencies. We partner with the Public Sector core sales teams to help agencies achieve their mission outcomes. We strive to be trusted advisors to help co-create transformation roadmaps leveraging Verizon Cybersecurity, Unified Communications, Collaboration, and Customer Experience and expertise.

Governments and agencies rely on Verizon to help detect issues, protect their networks and data, prevent breaches, and respond to issues should a security incident occur. Verizon UC&C technologies shape and power the way organizations conduct business, and we help them scale with integrated platforms delivering new digital initiatives. Our CX solutions provide government entities the ability to enhance their experiences, improve brand equity, and seamlessly interact with end users. Due to the rapid growth in Public Sector market opportunity for advanced solutions we are adding a business development manager to help execute on strategic sales programs with specialized sales teams.

  • You make us better. Drive the activities, initiatives, and ideas that grow our customer base, increase revenue and bookings, and improve our specialist sales practice engagement with Federal and SLED core sales teams.
  • You are an opportunity generator at scale: Strategically cultivate the opportunity landscape leveraging internal and external resources to stimulate new force multiplying sales opportunities for the Advanced Solutions Sales Specialists and Public Sector sales.
  • You’re a match-maker: Foster relationships between specialist sales teams, other Verizon sales support teams, and third parties to create integrated solutions to help customers achieve desired outcomes.
  • Be a master the art of identifying partners who provide the best value proposition for our customers and work with other key groups within the Public Sector organization to turn custom opportunities into repeatable solutions on government contracts.
  • You’re an ambassador: Collaborate across multiple organizations including sales, marketing, PMO teams, PCM/Finance, product management, and partner teams on use cases, competitive positioning, sales playbooks, feature sets, value proposition development.
  • You’re a path-clearer: Make sure our Solutions Specialists have a clear path and the tools they need.
  • Remove sales obstacles and promote process and system enhancement to improve the team, partner, and customer experience.
  • Learn and stay current on the state of the business, overall industry and growth projections, customer profiles, competitor developments, and market opportunities.
  • Capture and document customer needs and sales feedback.
  • Help map opportunities to existing products, or TPVs.
  • Document public sector requirements, trends, and continue to evaluate solution options including contract availability and operational supportability.
  • Create, support, and measure sales programs to effectively ramp up bookings and revenue results across the Public Sector advanced solutions sales specialist teams.
  • Support Public Sector sales and SA teams in pursuits and documentation of use cases, reference architectures, billing, and support models to enable replication of success.
  • Help create and continuously update the Sales Playbook for Public Sector Advanced Solutions.
  • Enhance best practices, sales steps, and success criteria from lead identification through contract execution.
  • Work with Marketing’s Voice of the Customer (VOC) team on product survey results and client feedback to continuously improve sales pursuit quality and results.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Five or or more years of experience working with US Federal industry standards, including NIST, CSF, FISMA, CLIN, etc.
  • Five or more years of Business development experience including building business cases.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • Eligibility for Secret level security clearance.
  • Valid driver's license.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree.
  • Expertise in Cybersecurity, UCC, and CX.
  • Sales leadership experience.
  • Experience with contract and deal negotiations, particularly with EIS, Networx, WITS 3, Schedule 70, etc.
  • Business development experience including building comprehensive business cases.
  • Experience with US Federal industry standards, including NIST, CSF, FISMA, CLIN, etc.
  • Demonstrated leadership skills including coaching, employee development, and successfully leading teams to meet or exceed targets.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to be a resourceful team player who excels at building trusting relationships with customers and colleagues.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with both executives, clients, and sales contributors.
  • Expertise with SFDC and sales cycle metrics.
