What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is looking for a skilled professional to join the Verizon Ethics team as an Ethics Officer. We are looking for a candidate with excellent judgment and people skills who is interested in taking on a wide variety of projects and working at a fast pace, both independently and as a collegial team member.

  • Handling sensitive contacts made to Verizon Ethics, including identifying key issues raised, triaging and routing to appropriate subject matter experts where appropriate, formulating and delivering Verizon Ethics responses, and ensuring appropriate resolution of matters.
  • Providing advice and guidance to employees in response to questions about Verizon’s Code of Conduct and Credo standards.
  • Conducting ethics investigations, including witness interviews, reviewing and analyzing documents, drafting investigative reports, and presenting investigative findings.
  • Reviewing and resolving Conflict of Interest Questionnaire (COIQ) submissions and ensuring that all actual or potential conflicts are properly assessed and addressed.
  • Working with Human Resources, Security, Risk Management & Compliance, Enterprise Risk Management, Operational Assurance, Internal Audit, Legal Department, Learning and Development and Corporate Communications teams, and other internal partners within Verizon on a variety of ethics and compliance matters, including providing ethics advice and guidance.
  • Making presentations to internal Verizon organizations about relevant ethics and integrity topics.

This position can be located in any valid domestic legal location.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to work flexible schedules to support international business units on investigations.

  • Experience crafting creative and engaging presentation materials.
  • Taking initiative to develop, lead and implement projects.
  • Interpersonal skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work with a wide range of business clients including senior leaders.
  • Proven oral, presentation, and written communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, analytic, and project management skills.
  • Outstanding attention to detail, and ability to multi-task and perform effectively under tight deadlines.
  • Experience working in a team environment.
  • Handled confidential and sensitive information.
