What you’ll be doing...

Verizon is looking for Cloud Security Python Developer and DevSecOps Engineers Cloud Security Practice. At Verizon, we’re seeking highly technical Python Developers and security DevSecOps automation is second nature, to work on enabling a secure foundation for hosting critical workloads in AWS/Google Public Cloud (GCP)/Oracle (OCI), Microsoft Azure. Our Cloud Security Developers will work with other Cloud Security Tools developers to bring the most secure cloud platform to bear on their problems through automated, repeatable processes.
While you must be able to communicate effectively with our customers to help them understand security issues and solutions as well as continuous delivery/Cloud concepts, this is very much a “hands-on” role. You will be expected to be at home creating automated Python Scripts for security compliance. While effective and articulate communication is essential, being able to breathe life into those ideas with code is equally critical.
Work closely with Cloud security to integrate their projects into the Security Tooling Platform from production Cloud environment and ensure their ongoing support once there.

  • Utilize Python & Lambda Responder Scripts to remediate compliance issues.
  • Utilize CloudFormation & Terraform to deploy Logging and Monitoring environments.
  • Utilize Security Test Automation Tools such as CFN-NAG.
  • Utilize Compliance monitoring tools such as Redlock.
  • Security Group Auditing and Blacklisting code.
  • Utilize Data Protection Templates.
  • Utilize IAM policies for applications.
  • Gain deep application-level knowledge of the systems as well as contributing to their overall design.
  • Be a DevSecOps champion - work closely with other internal teams to build security, reliability, and scalability into the development lifecycle.
  • Build engineering automation and productivity tools to streamline and scale applications in the production environment.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to security compliance, deployment and operations.
  • Build from the ground up reliable infrastructure services in Security Tooling to deliver highly available and scalable services.
  • Use native Cloud infrastructure services such as EC2, EBS, Auto Scaling, Cloudwatch, etc.
  • Work with a team of peers who are smart, professional, pull their own weight, and share a passion for what they’re creating.
  • A few examples of technologies we work with on a daily basis: AWS, GCP, OCI, Azure, Tableau & Postgres, MongoDB, Ansible, Splunk, Github, Jenkins, and JIRA & Confluence.
  • Build scorecards and KPI using Tableau or any analytics tool.
  • Design and develop database tables, sqls to upload data.
  • Refactor the code to improve the performance of the scripts, applications, programs on a regular basis.
  • End-to-end extensive error and exception handling with system monitoring controls.
  • Continuously look to automate and operationalize the manual / repetitive tasks.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Four or more years with AWS/Public Cloud (AWS Certified), Google Cloud (GCP Certified), Azure certified, seven or more years of DevSecOps experience or infrastructure experience.
  • Python, JavaScript (Essential) Ruby, Bash, Go experience.
  • AWS SDK and CLI experience.
  • JSON/CloudFormation & Terraform experience.
  • Linux and Windows System Administration experience.
  • Agile and DevSecOps Toolsets experience.
  • Experiencewith JIRA.
  • Experience with Test Automation Tools such as Ruby, Server Spec.
  • Experiencewith Jenkins, Ansible, Stash, Confluence.

Even better to have:

  • Master's degree.
  • Programming and Ops Skills.
  • Certifications such as Solution Architect, Devops Engineer from leading cloud service providers.
