What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s APAC Bid Management provides Bid Management expertise to contribute to Verizon’s business growth objectives by improving the overall rate of shortlisted deals. Our bid process provides a formal structure with strong governance, cross-functional teamwork, and customer focus for complex opportunities. These opportunities are managed by the bid manager during the bid phase of the sales cycle.

The Bid Manager’s role is to focus their virtual bid team on developing a solution and response that reflects an understanding of customer objectives and requirements. Working with resources from Australia, APAC, and international, the bid manager will focus on project management and quality management to produce a highly competitive bid response which considers customers’ evaluation criteria and compliance requirements while clearly communicating Verizon’s offer.

  • Projecting managing the RFP response process.

  • Working closely with Sales to assess opportunities and develop win strategies.

  • Reviewing RFPs and developing a timeline for proposal development (workplan) (e.g., all review stages, customer clarifications meetings, inputs into the proposal response, all final costs, final production).

  • Understanding resource needs and involving SMEs to form a bid team, co-coordinate resources, and communicate the bid strategy.

  • Ensuring internal governance process and commercial stage gates are built into all schedules and managed accordingly.

  • Publishing work plans and obtaining stakeholder concurrence on timeline and deliverables.

  • Assigning Q&A responses, gaining agreement on ownership, and tracking progress.

  • Tracking key deliverables against critical bid milestones and reporting against missed deadlines, taking remedial action directly or through flagging to appropriate business owners.

  • Maximizing the competitive positions of bids through articulation of a strong bid strategy and by driving compelling customer-focused business outcomes within proposal messaging.

  • Faciitating bid quality review methodology for proposal content.

  • Contributing to written proposals - both in terms of content and presentation.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Three or more years of bid management experience.

  • Experience in coordinating technically diverse groups.

  • Experience with the use of MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Google drive.

Even better if you have:

  • A degree.

  • Telecommunications/Data security experience.

  • Strong written and oral communication skills.
