FP&A Center of Excellence Team

Reshaping the future of FP&A at Verizon, calls for improving our ability to deliver outstanding value to our customers. Being a part of the Center of Excellence (COE) team you will work alongside financial professionals and business leaders, gaining opportunities to grow and develop to build a strong FP&A foundation. You will be involved in, target setting, reporting & analysis, planning and forecasting, and guiding the strategic direction across Verizon. Explore the breadth of opportunities that come with aligning your expertise with the future of outstanding networks, systems, analytics and video, to improve the way people live work and play.

  • Finalize the development of initial corporate or Business Unit-specific business plan, Commitment View, Best View, Capital planning, and target setting templates/models under mentorship of manager and/or Service Delivery teams.
  • Define the sources of data required for the planning and forecasting process.
  • Develop analytical assignments and standard planning & forecasting deliverables as well as identification of material discrepancies.
  • Coordinate updates to standard planning, budget, and forecast utilizing Excel and additional model templates.
  • Rectify issues arising from testing of newly crafted planning, forecasting, budgeting, capital, or target setting models/templates.
  • Prepare guidelines on the capital planning process, tools and standards.
  • Communicate with partners in a clear and concise manner.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience with Microsoft Office Suite with a focus on Excel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience in the technology and/or telecommunications industry.
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to focus on the details.
  • A professional certification (e.g. CPA, CMA).
  • Advanced knowledge of financial planning (e.g. forecasting, budgeting, business planning).
  • Proficiency in reporting and planning applications (i.e. Essbase, Smart View, Hyperion Planning, Hyperion Strategic Finance, TM1, Anaplan, etc.).
  • Knowledge in the usage of OBIEE, Tableau, SQL, and/or similar tools.
