What you’ll be doing...

This position reports to the Supervisor – Enterprise Validation. The primary responsibility is to assist the Global data owner, ensuring compliance and governance across all applications including third party vendors. This includes ensuring the integrity, compliance and reporting of all data whether driven from tables, calculations or uploads are maintained and adhered to. You will maintain an expert understanding of Payroll data used by PeopleSoft to ensure accuracy that is used in calculations and or reported to stakeholders or other departments.Value is provided to the enterprise by constantly monitoring, and improving the processes associated with the PeopleSoft tables and governance of Global Payroll data ensuring the overall accuracy to ultimately safeguard Verizon assets.

  • Partner closely with the Global Payroll Process owners regarding data input.

  • Serve as a member of the governance team including attending governance meetings, gathering essential data and information to conduct data analysis, partner with cross functional teams in the development and implementations of strategic projects, and perform independent and objective evaluations related to data models, structures and processes.

  • Responsible for understanding the overall Finance data model, as well as stakeholder models to support integration, and accountable for ensuring data standards, privacy and CPI guidelines are followed.

  • Drive decisions to ensure the right results are achieved for calculations or processes.

  • Research opportunities to standardize and streamline data elements amongst finance groups, and or stakeholders, analyze and test those scenarios and make recommendations to drive acceptance.

  • Assist in the implementation of those opportunities.

  • Responsible for the controls related to validation and maintenance of data and tables requiring updates that are owned by the organization. This includes reviewing and ensuring changes applied will not affect employees pay.

  • Develop and maintain procedures and policies for their assigned work stream or function(s).

  • Ensure compliance with internal policies and controls (e.g., Security, Disaster Recovery, Sarbanes Oxley and local entity or country compliance).

  • Responsible for staying certified or trained on enhancements or upgrades implemented by the primary systems utilized.

  • Provide guidance to functional teams related to data gathering and reporting for organizational data.

You are passionate about systems and process streamlining and consolidation, and continually research for best practices. You stay current on industry standards by engaging in networking and benchmarking.

You’ll need to have:

  • A Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.

  • Three or more years of relevant work experience.

  • Experience with SQL, Talent, Macros, and VBA.

  • Experience in Excel, Analytics and Data Management.

  • Experience with PeopleSoft and time reporting technology.

Even better if you have:

  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.

  • Exceptional presentation skills.
