What you’ll be doing...

As a Lifecycle Engineer, you will be playing a technical leadership role in the delivery of our Verizon and customer IoT Operations.

  • Providing complex troubleshooting of escalated incidents and participating and providing guidance for deployments of new solutions.
  • Shaping operational process and workflow for peers in Tier-2.
  • Providing leadership in our support of standard MWAN Network Engineering on over 2500 Cradlepoint devices (with Net Cloud Manager-NCM) - LTE as primary and leading into 5G.
  • Developing and supporting runbooks for operational support and providing knowledge transfer through documented solutions and live sessions with peers.
  • Engaging in the integration of platforms and solutions that help deliver our managed services to our customers.
  • Developing automation, scripts and workflows within management tools and platforms, both internally hosted and external SaaS/PaaS solutions
  • Defining, alerting, and monitoring thresholds for scaled deployments of various end-point devices.
  • Providing escalation support, root cause analysis of escalated incidents. Develop and implement short and long-term fixes both individually and through collaboration with others.
  • Using awareness of product quality metrics for devices and deployments to assist in shaping future solutions.
  • Providing design requirements and user stories for management platform development, and ongoing UI and design requirements for development teams. Maintain prioritized feature lists for internally developed and third-party solutions.
  • Developing IoT device behavior profiles and baselines. Discover patterns and correlations within these behaviors, focus on improvements of repeating issues related to each platform's architectures.
  • Providing trending and analysis of monitoring and performance data when required.
  • Verizon Service Desk with escalated incidents pertaining to the management of Managed IoT Devices.
  • Trending and analysis of monitoring and performance data and recommend process and infrastructure improvements where required.
  • Leveraging knowledge management platforms and providing technical support to assist customers in the use of Verizon's Condition Based Management (CBM) a platform for IoT infrastructure end-point management.
  • Testing new solutions anddeliver training where required.
  • Providing detail technical support for feature development and testing of those features.
  • Assisting in the training and documentation required by the Verizon operations team.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in the support of Cradlepoint routers and Netcloud Manager (NCM) for WIFI, LTE and leading to 5G.
  • Knowledge of authentication, monitoring, and alerting systems (AD, RADIUS/TACACS+, SNMP managers, Sev1).
  • Experience with Linux (Redhat, Ubuntu), Microsoft Windows, TCP networking, DNS, DHCP, network security, load balancing, basic diagnosis of hardware issues.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • A degree.
  • Experience with Cloud Service Providers such as AWS and Azure.
  • Experience with automation frameworks and scripting languages(Ansible, Python).
  • Working knowledge of container technologies (Dockers).
  • Ability to diagnose device network connectivity between hosts, local and network storage, switches and routers, sensors, various IoT devices, as well as their integration with management platforms.
  • Working knowledge of databases and open-source tools.
  • Experience managing large scale technology deployments, both virtual and physical in nature.
  • Ability and desire to troubleshoot complex problems.
  • Ability to develop and communicate through documentation and deliver knowledge transfer to peers and to the leadership of all levels.
  • Ability to translate business requirements to capabilities and technology roadmaps.
  • Ability to divide and conquer problems, communicate.
