What you’ll be doing...

As the Executive Director of Segment Effectiveness for the Verizon Business Group’s (VBG) Product organization, you will be responsible for maximizing the efficiency and revenue of the Product Portfolio into each business segment we serve – Small Business, Markets, Enterprise, and the Public Sector.

To succeed in this role, one must have a thorough knowledge of the VBG product portfolio and the future roadmap, as well as the needs and trends in each of the segments. It will be especially important to have this knowledge during a time of disruption and transformation in order to understand the fundamental changes taking place across the segments, such as increasing distribution of the workforce, rapid multi and hybrid cloud adoption, exponential growth in connections from IoT, the proliferation of cyber risks, and increasing expectations of solutions to install easily, operate transparently, and be self-managed. The Director must also have the skills to arm, train, support, and drive our segment-specific sales channels and help them succeed in delivering revenue objectives.

This role will lead a staff of Product and Go-To-Market professionals while serving as a Product liaison for sales programs, business transformation initiatives, and Learning & Development (L&D). This includes the management of multiple, highly complex, and high-profile commercial programs supporting VBG’s portfolio.

This will require horizontal collaboration across peer and matrix organizations. The leader will work closely with Product Management, Sales, Sales Operations, Product Marketing, Field Marketing, and the VBG Commercial Operations teams to deliver on product revenue and profitability targets.

Key to this strategy is the ability to prioritize, track, and execute on specific opportunities within each segment by technology stack. These opportunities include delivering channel support, ensuring sales effectiveness, program management of critical initiatives, input on product development roadmap, field and sales communications, optimizing sales targets, and commissioning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the strategic direction and competitive positioning of the products across multiple sales channels and customers
  • Establish and execute go-to-market plans and drive post-launch activity to ensure revenue forecasts are achieved
  • Track and analyze key performance metrics on a monthly basis and forecast product revenues
  • Ensure sales channels are armed, trained, and incentivized correctly; track KPIs and be a “force multiplier” for the sales channel
  • Grow revenue and profitability to positively impact shareholder value

What we’re looking for...

  • 10+ years of product management, marketing, and/or sales experience delivering to business clients
  • Experience deploying products and solutions in any of the following verticals (Security, Advanced Communications, IoT, and/or Network)
  • Demonstrated track record of successful leadership and employee development
  • Ability to develop product strategies that drive sales
  • Ability to coordinate multiple stakeholders in a matrix-management model
  • Ability to recruit top talent into the organization to drive revenue
  • Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects, with strong attention to detail
  • Ability to multi-task and flex with changing business needs
  • Ability to conduct meetings, think critically, and drive timelines
  • Effective oral and written communication and report presentation skills to up level executives
  • Strong interpersonal and project management skills
  • Exceptional quantitative and analytical skills
  • Proven track record working with and influencing cross-functional and business operational teams, and ability to quickly and actively establish an internal network of relationships
  • Ability and willingness to travel domestically on a frequent basis
