Come join the evolution of Business Transformation 3.0 where your work will be highly visible and directly impact the future of our Verizon Consumer Group (VCG) business on behalf of our core constituencies. As an Insights & Ideation leader you will be responsible for enabling bold strategic shifts through radical choices that achieve our transformational outcomes.

We are hiring an Insight and Ideation Manager to drive research into the future trends that will unlock competitive advantage across VCG and bring together the brightest minds from across Verizon to develop radical concepts to be pitched at the highest levels of the company. You will work cross-functionally and use your creativity to explore ways to drive meaningfully positive change within the organization. With a blend of Outside-in-thinking; macro research; strategic insights and ability to create a visionary narrative, in this role you will be a leader with a seat at the table to influence and drive change. You will uncover long term transformational strategies, with a blue-sky approach for developing a strategic plan.

  • Conduct independent research using wide ranging external and internal data; insights and SME knowledge to produce robust insight that assess opportunities to achieve competitive advantage in our market.
  • Collaborate with thought leaders from across the business to explore opportunities to leverage these disruptive trends.
  • Identify business gaps, defining process and technical solutions and developing recommendations with limited direction, usually within a complex and often ambiguous environment.
  • Drive rigorous, fact-based recommendations to senior management, other executive, functional, or regional management while supporting syndication with stakeholders across the organization.

What we’re looking for...

You translate facts into compelling stories and tailor your presentations and recommendations to the audience. You make connections between data derived from different sources within and outside of our industry and synthesize it into one complete picture to improve the customer and employee experience. You know that different team members and stakeholders have different needs and you flex your style and approach to be most effective. You thrive in a fast-paced environment with multiple highly visible projects with lots of competing priorities. People trust you and come to you for advice and counsel. You identify and coach to areas of opportunity to promote growth, mentorship, development and success. You are a subject matter expert and leverage your business experience to enhance and accelerate outcomes.

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience researching trends using a variety of internal and external resources.
  • Experience creating and presenting compelling stories across all levels of an organization.
  • Significant experience researching; designing and pitching high level concepts across a varied group of stakeholders with proven success in driving buy-in for challenging proposals.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • Master’s degree in business, technology, or related functions.
  • Experience in tier 1 management consulting company or a corporate strategy department, with a focus on strategy.
  • Two or more years of experience as a team leader and change agent.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to drive cross-functional teams to meet business objectives and influence co-workers while fostering strong working relationships.
  • Strong consulting skills, including negotiation and conflict resolution.
  • Experience influencing key stakeholders through relationships, expertise and data.
  • Consumer, financial services, or technology sector knowledge.
  • Strong presentation skills at the executive level. Great command of MS PowerPoint & Excel, Google Slides & Sheets.
  • Design Thinking experience.
