What you’ll be doing...

The PS Senior Consultant will be responsible for customer’s WAN & SDWAN design, implementation, assessing, consulting, and handoff of complex network solutions spanning multiple technologies for a wide range of customers, from small to large enterprise, while providing senior technical leadership within the immediate team and the PS organization as a whole.

  • Develop trusted technical advisor relationships with internal & external organizations.
  • Lead client on design and implementations strategies for large scale WAN & SDWAN deployments.
  • Demonstrate value of SDWAN Network implementation by identifying areas of improvements and best practice design.
  • Provide senior leadership both within the Network PS team as well as within assigned engagements.
  • Sustain a leadership role within team through mentorship, sharing experience and knowledge through technical sessions, and leading by example, both through professional interactions and the continued pursuit of expert level knowledge within multiple fields.
  • Consistently demonstrate the value of Verizon Network PS by identifying areas of improvement for the Network PS team, maintaining a high level of quality and professionalism within assigned tasks, and increasing organizational exposure through direct engagement with pre and post sales organizations in multiple capacities.
  • Accept individual ownership of issues, creative thinking though to develop resolutions.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Professional level industry certifications within the network engineering field such as CCNP or equivalent
  • Experience with SDWAN technologies design and deployment with one or more: Versa, Viptela, SilverPeak.
  • Experience within claimed specialty (ies), for example: routing protocols (BGP, EIGRP, OSPF, RIP), L2 networks (RSTP, STP, 802.1x), MPLS, Cellular WAN, QoS, advanced configurations, etc.
  • Demonstrated experience in solution design –leading a design-related discussion with leading questions to fully vet solution requirements and develop a proposed design fulfilling said requirements.
  • Knowledge of other technologies and their network requirements/impact.
  • Willingness to travel.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree in Computer Science/Information technology.
  • Ability to produce comprehensive yet understandable technical documentation (design document, diagrams, etc.)
  • Demonstrated communication and relational skills – able to form a trusted advisor relationships, able to listen and guide a technical discussion, able to clearly articulate complex topics.
  • Ability to take high level direction and proactively move a project or internal initiative from start to finish with minimal assistance.
  • Ability to perform a wide variety of technical and organizational tasks and may lead or direct the work of others.
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and run a customer meeting with global partners.
  • Six or more years of experience in security knowledge or skills (Penetration testing, GRC practice, security device implementation, audit, assessment).
  • Demonstrated organizational skills such as project management experience.
  • Experience with cloud-based services (NaaS, SaaS, PaaS, IaaS, etc.)
  • Experience with platforms such as: PaloAlto, Fortinet, ASA, Checkpoint, Juniper, Cradelpoint.
  • Experience leading a project team of three or more providing security related service to the customer.
