What you’ll be doing...

Our Global Supply Chain team is hiring a passionate and strategic Category Intelligence Manager in the Accessories category, on a team that powers Category Intelligence for Verizon. The accessories portfolio brings in a growing six hundred million dollars of annual revenue. It spans 12+ categories including cases, screen protectors, chargers, and more. Your work will be visible to mid- and high-level executives. This is a job for an intelligent, decisive, quick, and forward-thinking leader.

In this role, you will act as a consultant for members involved in the Accessories Category Intelligence process. You will lead cross-functional teams who are responsible for steps to deliver the best value to Verizon’s customers. You will be responsible for delivering on milestones including defining baselines, measuring trends, analyzing information, identifying strategic options & developing partnerships in addition to supporting negotiations.

  • Orchestrate the Accessories Category Intelligence people and process between Device Marketing and Sourcing teams as outlined below.
  • Create the category baseline based on information from multiple sources, while leveraging partnerships in the stakeholder team.
  • Build upon the baseline defined to understand and communicate where the category is headed; what products are coming in, and what is going out.
  • Manage work with the Accessories Category Intelligence Analyst to build new insights on top of baseline and trend information available, such as cost modeling.
  • Assimilate category strategy options from information analyzed to recommend improvements including but not limited to cost, sustainability, and risk.
  • Facilitate cross-functional collaboration to define what shared success looks like, that improves the company’s competitive position in terms of revenue and margin.
  • Enhance relationships with highly valued suppliers to achieve win-win outcomes.
  • Throughout every milestone, prepare and deliver executive level presentations with a clearly articulated Accessories category strategy to gain alignment across the business.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager

What we’re looking for...

You will need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant experience.
  • Experience leading cross-functional teams to achieve shared success.
  • Willingness to travel up to 25%.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business or related field.
  • Master’s degree.
  • Consulting experience.
  • Experience leading a category intelligence process.
  • Demonstrated competency in clear and concise, communication and presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated successful ability to interact with internal and external audiences.
  • Strong financial acumen, especially involving business cases and cost modeling.
  • Proven leadership and influencing skills.
  • Product manager experience with Accessories such as Cases and Screen Protectors.
  • Six Sigma and Agile training and experience.
  • Leadership experience.
