The Verizon Corporate Information Security (CIS) organization securely enables the business by protecting assets and information across Verizon networks, infrastructure and applications. CIS integrates cybersecurity governance, policies, technologies and operations across Verizon, and works to incorporate security into the design of technology systems and services.

The Security Integration Services team sits at the intersection of business need and risk management, providing robust end-to-end scalable technical solutions ensuring the business moves forward with security and risk management in mind. Protecting our shareholders, our customers, and our brand is our top priority!

As a Security Engineer within the Security Integration Services team, you will streamline processes, develop automated tasks, and provide our customers with self-service capabilities making it easier for them to do business with us. You will perform medium size technical tasks with some level of complexity. You will generally follow established/documented approaches to issues and problems.

Responsibilities include:

  • Support the installation and configuration of new Windows/Linux servers as new instances are spun up.

  • Support processes both on-prem and in the Public Cloud.

  • Document processes for supporting all aspects of our complex heterogeneous technical infrastructure.

  • Ensure Operating Systems are at current patch levels from a security perspective.

  • Maintain current middleware products.

  • Document and develop consistent repeatable processes to correct system vulnerabilities as they are identified.

  • Support technical product evaluation initiatives by assessing solutions’ features relative to the business needs.

  • Keep abreast of industry trends & competitors.

  • Implement new products/solutions.

  • Maintain appropriate technical documentation documents.

  • Document business problems and the technical work processes to be followed.

  • Develop & deliver technical solutions to resolve customers’ problems.

  • Analyze collected data to support the development of business cases.

You must be currently enrolled in a degree program and be in good academic standing to be considered.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Current enrollment in a Bachelor’s/Master’s degree program in: Information Systems, Information Security, Computer Science, Cyber Security, Data Analytics, Business IT, or related majors with an expected completion date between December 2021 and June 2022.

  • Authorization to work in the U.S. without restrictions or need for future sponsorship.

  • Willingness to work in Irving, TX.

Even better if you have:

  • Knowledge of the Software Development Lifecycle phases, including system analysis, design, coding, testing, debugging and documentation.

  • Knowledge of computing software, hardware and networking infrastructure.

  • Excellent Troubleshooting and Problem solving skills.

  • Experience with C# .NET / VB.NET, LINQ, ADO.NET, PowerShell, JavaScript, Angular, HTML, XML, JSON, RESTful API's, Web Services.

  • Experience with Active Directory, Windows Server 2012/2016, Unix/Linux, SQL/Oracle, SSO/SiteMinder, AWS/OCI/GCP, IIS/Apache Tomcat.
