What you’ll be doing...

Verizon Connect produces the industry-leading fleet management solution Reveal, which enables customers all over the world to track their vehicles, equipment and field workers in real time to help our customers run safer, more efficient businesses.

We are looking for a UX Designer to join our global Experience team and help deliver experiences that matter to hundreds of thousands of people across the world every day.

The Reveal platform includes a responsive web application and several native mobile applications as well as the hardware devices that power our software. Reveal enables our customers to track their vehicles and equipment in real time - lots of companies talk about the Internet of Things, we’ve been building it for years.

You'll be assigned to a cross-functional team, and collaborate closely with your colleagues in Product, Engineering, Hardware and Data Science (amongst others) to ship world-class experiences. You will partner with Designers in other UX disciplines including UI, Service Design, Content and Research and together you will tackle problems and create solutions which deliver real value to our customers.

You will be part of an extensive mentorship network, coached not only by your manager but by multiple talented, experienced folk who will inspire you to do your best work and help you to progress in your career.

Responsibilities will include…

  • Being the voice of the user on your team, ensuring that the products we deliver solve the right problems for our users in the right ways.
  • Working with the Product and Research teams to build a strong understanding of your area of the product, the job it does for our users and how it is used.
  • Planning and facilitating workshops to involve your cross-functional team in the design process.
  • Delivering finished, well-documented designs to your Engineers in good time.

What we’re looking for...

You are a talented UX Designer looking to move into a team where you can learn about every aspect of the product design. You’ve heard a lot about the Internet of Things, but want a job where you can work on it. You want to be part of a well-structured team, with opportunities to grow and where your career development is taken seriously. You know you can make a strong contribution to the user experience of our product line and you just need a chance to prove it to us.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or relevant work experience.
  • Relevant years of experience as a UX Designer.
  • A portfolio that showcases your capabilities in UX process design.
  • Experience of working with Product and Engineering Professionals within a cross functional team.
  • Experience of designing for both web and mobile applications.
  • Knowledge and understanding of UX research techniques.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Master’s degree in a design related subject.
  • Strong experience in UI design.
  • Knowledge and experience of delivering Lean UX.
  • Experience of working on an agile team is a plus.
  • Strong communication skills.
