What you’ll be doing...

Verizon’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) team acts as a strategic advisor to Verizon business units and corporate groups, assisting them in adopting and implementing responsible business strategies. The CSR team seeks a manager on the social innovation team that will help scale social innovation principles and drive responsible business practices throughout the business, and create initiatives that leverage Verizon’s core capabilities and solutions to realize both business and societal value, or shared value.

  • Develop and implement a plan to introduce and drive awareness of Verizon social innovation principles and toolkit across Verizon business teams. Understand barriers and incentives to teams adopting social innovation and implement strategies to drive change.
  • Consult with business teams, helping them understand and implement social innovation principles and opportunities to modify processes and operational structures in their organization to support social innovation goals.
  • Support business teams with the creation and delivery of initiatives that leverage Verizon’s core capabilities and solutions to drive both business and societal value, or shared value.
  • Work across the business to support implementation of responsible business practices, including those related to our commitments related to disability inclusion and accessibility.
  • Regularly analyze Verizon’s performance and progress toward meeting social responsibility goals and success measures; recommend and drive improvements.
  • Establish long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships with stakeholders from the private, public, and civil society sectors to support social innovation programs.
  • In close partnership with marketing and public policy, identify external engagements that provide opportunity for thought leadership to amplify Verizon’s brand in the social responsibility and social innovation space
  • Work with PR, brand, and communications colleagues to develop appropriate corporate messaging on relevant responsible business initiatives and shared value program.

What we’re looking for...

You'll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Knowledge of Verizon’s strategy, business structures, and products/services.
  • Proven track record of driving change in a large and complex business.
  • Ability to work effectively with all levels of management and across departments to achieve mutually beneficial results.
  • Project management, collaboration, and oral and written communication skills.
  • Experience of shared value, corporate responsibility best practices, and stakeholder expectations.
  • Ability to find alternative and creative ways to influence and persuade colleagues regardless of level.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, especially PowerPoint, as well as Google Suite.
  • Willingness to travel as needed
