What you’ll be doing...

You’ll join the Professional Practices Group (PPG) within the Verizon Internal Audit department allowing you to positively impact the way we do business. This group will provide you with the foundation to be a change agent, providing objective evaluations of our internal processes identifying areas of risk as well as operational and technological efficiency. Under the supervision of a Senior Manager, you will assist with the Internal Audit Quality Assurance & Improvement Program (QAIP), Audit Committee material preparation, Business Risk Management process, and other key deliverables.

Perform QC (Quality Control) reviews for Internal audit department engagements to ensure audits are executed in accordance with the IPPF standards, ensuring quality reports with clear findings and sufficient action plans to mitigate risk.

  • Present practical recommendations to audit teams based on QC findings.
  • Assist in the preparation of executive summary of QC observations for senior leadership to drive accountability and improvements.
  • Assist in the coordination of the Audit Committee presentations ensuring quality and timeliness.
  • Analyze and gather results for the annual and mid-year Business Risk Management process.
  • Assist with the Annual Audit planning process.
  • Advise the auditors of best practices based on the IIA standards/ Audit Methodology.
  • Assist in audit closure, onboarding/off boarding, responding timely to audit questions.
  • Assist in PPG ad-hoc projects / requests.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.

Even better if you have:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or four or more years of work experience.
  • Advanced degree /Master's degree/ MBA.
  • Public Accounting experience.
  • Verbal and written communication skills.
  • Professional Certifications (CPA, CIA, CISA, PMP).
  • Experience in conducting QC reviews.
  • Effective project management skills and ability to work with management at all levels.
  • Effective critical thinking skills and ability to be detailed-oriented.
  • Effectively research, gather information, and provide results.
  • Knowledge of risk management methodology and internal control factors.
  • Analytics ability to pull data and visualize at an executive level within different formats (e.g., SQL, Tableau, Power BI, Google Analytics, etc.)

This role will be based out of Basking Ridge, NJ, Alpharetta, GA, Lake Mary, FL, or Ashburn, VA as listed in the posting. In this role, you'll have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days set by your manager.
