Verizon Location Technology (VLT) sits at the core of the Strategy and New Business Development organization and is a critical part of driving innovation across our global customer base, both inside and outside of Verizon. We manage geospatial platforms, digital twins of places, and smart industrial process simulations that enable technologies like 5G, Multi-Access Edge Computing, AR/VR, and robotics that are allowing us to create products that were previously impossible. This Product Manager role is part of the Product team and serves as the Agile Product Owner. You will partner with a Product Manager to understand customer requirements, set squad priorities, ensure that requirements are translated into workable backlogs of epics and stories and address product design, build and delivery questions and discovery. You are the go-to person for design, engineering and DevSecOps when they have questions on capabilities and deliverables. You are the expert on your backlog with a clear understanding of how every epic and story delivers against customer requirements. At the end of the day when a story on your engineering team’s board hits the ‘Done’ column you have been with that story every step of the way.

  • Partner with an Agile Coach who runs daily stand up meetings and scrum ceremonies.
  • Understand the importance of these interactions and understand how these ceremonies fit into Verizon Location Technologies’ overall Agile product development lifecycle methodology.
  • Collaborate with other Product Owners to ensure all customer requirements are understood and relayed.
  • Assist engineering as needed demoing working features to internal stakeholders.
  • Seek to better understand how engineering delivers on product requirements and you understand Git workflows, CI/CD pipelines, code review processes, QA testing and UAT.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Six or more years of relevant work experience.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
Even better if you have:

  • Four or more years of Agile Product Owner experience in software development.
  • Intermediate experience in PaaS, SaaS, API designs, large scale data management, and/or digital twin approaches.
  • Experience with modern software development life cycles and tools.
  • Experience working with either front or back end engineering teams and technologies delivering code for large-scale, enterprise-grade, production applications using an Agile framework.
  • Some experience with geospatial applications.
  • Flexibility to meet the needs of emerging technology products.
  • Experience creating innovative solutions to complex technical challenges.
