What you’ll be doing...

We constantly seek to improve the customer experience with our innovative technologies and elite service. That’s where you come in. You’ll coordinate testing and turn up services with all involved providers to ensure that customers’ issues are resolved faster and more efficiently. Your role will involve maintaining our new and existing circuits through various troubleshooting methods to isolate and resolve customer outages.

  • Maintaining backbones and network-to-network interfaces testing.
  • Performing installation and maintenance of circuits working closely with local partners and global network operations centers to resolve customer outages.
  • Dispatching of all standard and Ethernet CPE for customer installation and maintenance.
  • Performing preventative maintenance on all network transport and power equipment.
  • Maintaining the International Long Distance node.
  • Tier 2 operational support for the PIP, SES, CPA and former-XO networks.
  • Working with Vendors and Tier 1 Operations.
  • Lead in adding redundancy, availability and support for the legacy networks (PIP, CPA, SES and former XO).
  • On-call support as required as part of a rotation.
  • Work with Tier 1 Operations to advance their knowledge of the various networks, designs, troubleshooting, etc.
  • Engagement in upgrades, patches and catastrophic outages, including as part of on-call duties.

You have positive relationship building skills and work well with diverse teams. You’re known for your superb communication skills and ability to convey difficult technical information in a way that everyone can understand. No stranger to a fast-paced, pressure-packed, high demand 24x7 network operations environment, you can balance competing priorities and keep a laser-sharp focus on work and timelines.

In this remote role, you'll work from home with occasional in-person trainings and meetings.

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Experience in TDM and Ethernet testers.
  • Willingness to work weekends and holidays and to undertake work outdoors in changing seasonal conditions.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

  • Experience with technical writing and review of methods of procedures (MOPs).
  • Knowledge of IPv4, IPv6, QoS, Multicast, MPLS, IP Routing Protocols like ISIS, OSPF, BGP, L3VPN, L2VPN, Traffic Engineering using BGP and MPLS-TE.
  • Knowledge of modern router architecture including interworking of control plane and forwarding plane, switch fabric, egress queuing.
  • Experience with Automation using configuration management tools like Puppet, Chef, Ansible or Salt.
  • Willingness to travel.
  • A degree.
  • CCNA or CCNP certification.
  • Telecom industry experience.
  • Experience in a 24x7 network operations center or in a global enterprise environment.
