What you’ll be doing...

As a member of the Invoice Validation team, the Senior Analyst must manage multiple tasks, tools and systems simultaneously. Meeting organizational goals depends on this person’s ability to organize, create, communicate, and facilitate activities that allow the company to deliver on its commitments.

• Analyzing, developing and executing detailed audits and analysis involving considerable complexity for Verizon and its subsidiaries.
• Building/executing queries against large volumes of billing data to find possible erroneous billing elements/volumes based primarily off tariff/contract interpretation, automated matches to internal or industry data, or detailed calculations performed within the audit logic.
• Interpreting audit results, and apply tariff/contract interpretation, legal guidance and FCC / Regulatory orders to support material disputes that are filed monthly. These disputes have a material financial impact to Verizon from a margin and cash flow perspective as the majority of these disputes are deducted and not paid to the vendors.
• Exhibiting vendor specific knowledge of billing, tariffs, contracts, commitment plans, and interpretation of production/adhoc audit results of invoice details, provisioning systems, network architecture, and the tariff/contractual terms that govern Verizon purchases.
• Notifying and initiating negotiations with Verizon’s vendors, and with providing the explanation and supporting documentation for filed claims.
• Leading consultation with Legal, Regulatory, Network Engineering, and Carrier Management, as necessary, to support and resolve open claims.
• Participating in developing and mentoring Band 8 employees within the Invoice Validation Organization.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You are detail-oriented, analytical, and enjoy getting to the root cause of issues. Working with others on continuous operational improvement will be a key driver for you to ensure accuracy, efficiency, and ultimately deliver a seamless process for the customer.

You’ll need to have:

• Bachelor’s degree or four or more years of work experience.
• Three or more years of accounting or relevant work experience.

Even better if you have one or more of the following:

• A degree in Finance, Accounting, Business or Computer Science.
• Experience in SQL coding and/or other complex data analysis tools.
• Experience with Microsoft Office, with a focus on Excel.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
