When you join Verizon
Verizon is one of the world’s leading providers of technology and communications services, transforming the way we connect across the globe. We’re a diverse network of people driven by our shared ambition to shape a better future. Here, we have the ability to learn and grow at the speed of technology, and the space to create within every role. Together, we are moving the world forward – and you can too. Dream it. Build it. Do it here.
What you’ll be doing...
Within Verizon’s Corporate Strategy team, the Strategy Development team works with key stakeholders across the organization to develop long-term strategies, drive portfolio evolution and increase shareholder value. Through rigorous analysis and a structured process, we answer critical questions for Verizon’s executive team, Board of Directors and other Verizon stakeholders.
The primary focus of this role will be on strategic analysis for Verizon’s global network supply chain ecosystem (i.e. network equipment, devices, semiconductors, etc.) with the goals of ensuring long term health and sustainability of Verizon’s vendors and fostering innovation.
In addition, this role will perform additional strategic/ecosystem analysis on an ad hoc basis and participate in scenario planning and “war gaming” workshops. This role will have significant exposure to new markets and technologies (i.e. 5G, Open RAN, MEC, IoT, etc.).
What we’re looking for...
You will be a catalyst for change and thus must be comfortable with ambiguity, leading across multiple teams and working with all levels of the organization to get results. You ask thought-provoking questions based on your understanding of the business, market and macro-environment. You are a self-starter, creative and innovative thinker with strong attention to detail, and an ability to connect the dots and influence others. Talking to people comes very naturally to you and you have an ability to communicate and present complex information (including quantitative and/or financial) succinctly, and in a way that people understand – whether verbal or written. You have a passion for arriving at the answer through independent research, financial analysis, competitive benchmarking and data manipulation; always fact-based in forming hypotheses.
You’ll need to have:
Even better if you have one or more of the following:
