What you’ll be doing...

  • Effective directing and managing client relationships and Verizon workforce & processes in Network Engineering ecosystem.
  • Leadership of a team in support of customer objectives as delivered by Network Engineering.
  • Ownership of continuous review, identification, development, and implementation of improvements to the client (and Verizon) environment to increase efficiency, quality, and speed of delivered services.
  • Providing change leadership within immediate team and encouraging and nurturing change across Network Engineering ecosystem.
  • Communicating and translating functional/operational goals into team/individual objectives; managing implementation of policies & procedures.
  • Carrying out, inspecting and validating management administration tasks, such as time management and productivity measurement, personnel development, etc.
  • Managing a team of highly technical, distributed Network Engineers; providing support/review and escalation for direct team.
  • Monitoring, optimizing and reporting on resource and workforce management.
  • Close collaboration with Engineering/Planning, IT, Product Development, and various Verizon and external delivery and supporting teams to manage the design and implementation of client projects.
  • Managing business expense and revenue to ensure profitability.
  • Protecting Verizon customer proprietary network information and Verizon information assets.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Computer Science or relevant work experience.
  • Relevant experience in Telecommunications or Technology Company.
  • Experience in leading a team.
  • Understanding of communications products and networking technologies in order to be able to understand technical issues that are being escalated.
  • Advanced knowledge of business processes (e.g. ITIL, Project Management) and the impact thereof on the technical environment.

Even better if you have:

  • Advanced skills to perform complex work for a functional area and general knowledge of other areas.
  • Independent thinking; full use and application of principles, theories, concepts and technologies.
  • Leadership and team-building capabilities through experience in leading teams or projects to successfully achieve measurable results.
  • Experience or specific skills related to: technology adoption, software development, business process optimization, automation, etc.
