What you’ll be doing...

The Verizon Threat Response Advisory Center (VTRAC) Intelligence Team requires a Surface, Deep, and Dark Web Investigative Research Consultant (Dark web Hunter) to support the Dark Web Hunting as a Service, Verizon Threat Intel Platform service (VTIPS), the Rapid Response Retainer (RRR), and other Verizon elements requiring intelligence support. Conducts daily interactions with the 24x7x365 Dark Web Threat Hunting team members regarding many commercial and government customer interactions and deliverables. Interacts with other teams within PS and is the point of contact for all assigned customer intelligence inquiries and queries daily. Also may conduct, manage, train, and oversee the onboarding requirements of new and current personnel to ensure all deliverables align to and meet the Team's Standard Operating Procedures, contracted Statement Of Work , scoping, and customer’s intelligence requirements. You will assist when required with the daily interworking of the 24x7x365 Intel team, VTIPS 8x5 on-customer-site FTEs, intelligence delivery for global customer delivery and all workflows, processes and procedures. Also may provide threat intelligence to all external Professional Services global offices and employees. Internal and external customers requiring early warning of adversarial attempts to degrade and disrupt their business operations.

In order to proactively detect and identify such activity or investigate on-going attacks from foreign adversaries and cyber criminals, VTRAC requires a Surface, Deep, and Dark Web Investigative Research Consultant (Dark web Hunter) that can not only conduct in-depth and investigative research, identification, and detection of adversarial attempts to degrade and disrupt their landscape, supply chains, physical infrastructure, personnel, and ecosystem, but assist with the operational needs of the team.

  • Supports the customer’s physical and cyber-environment risk management programs, network security programs, insider threat programs, human resource programs, foreign travel programs, critical infrastructure and supply chain programs, etc.
  • Elevates the protection of internal and external customer infrastructure, business operations, employees, consumers, and the reputation of the Customer’s brand.
  • Facilitates the detection, identification and monitoring of terrorism, criminal, and foreign intelligence tradecraft activities targeting customer environments.
  • Trains on investigative and/or intelligence research and analysis techniques.
  • Independently and professionally consults with customers one-on-one to help guide cyber security efforts within the customer’s risk management, risk mitigation, and security programs, nights, weekends, and holidays when required.

This hybrid role will have a defined work location that includes work from home and assigned office days as set by the manager.

What we’re looking for...

You’ll need to have:

  • Bachelor's degree or four or more years of work experience.
  • Four or more years of relevant work experience.
  • Willingness to travel as needed up to 25%.
  • Relevant work experience in the cyber intelligence field.

Even better if you have:

  • Master's degree.
  • Eight or more years of work experience in cyber threat intelligence.
  • Certified Ethical Hacker (CEH), Certified Incident Handler certification, (GCIH), GIAC Security Essentials (GSEC), GIAC Cyber Threat Intelligence Certification (GCTI) or GIAC Penetration Tester (GPEN).
  • Experience, or certifications in conducting Open Source Intelligence (OSINT), Surface, Deep and Dark web hunting methodologies, tactics, techniques, and procedures.
